Just went to F8 after having a few random bsod and lockups in just idle/browsing. Well, now my games crash. Going back to F6 but I'm done with GB tbh, their drivers are just not improving things. Asus is probably gonna be my choice. I had no issues with the boards I've had with them (MIVE-67, CHIVF, R3E, RIVE, P8P67 WS) besides the brand new then RIVBE was hella buggy at launch.

Edit: can't roll back to f6. Thats lame mad.gif. Bios locks when trying to load anything. Gonna try f7 but I'm definitely done with GB.

I got mine to flash back to F3 from F6 and was hoping to work my way back up to F6 to see if that fixed anything. But it decided to go into one of its 5 hour boot loops so now it is all torn apart with the CPU ready for Intel to say send it along with the RAM ready to go to kingston. This will mean all hardware besides case, 1 SSD, 1 HDD, and the GTX 760's will have been replaced and I am hoping to upgrade the case to an R5 along with a 1000w PSU and a single GTX 980. I figure this will get me closer to my goal of being able to game at 4k on a 40" monitor with more than 25 FPS. No I don't have the monitor yet but it will be had before or around christmas I hope. I was thinking of upgrading to the SOC but figure I will just hold out on a new board till I do a skylake build or even the next gen after that.

Only thing I can conclude with mine is that the CPU is bad. From what I have read the CPU if bad will cause the board to not boot all features due to power issues and what not.

Or would I be better off to get all working parts and then sell everything to do a skylake build after all the trouble I have had with this POS?

Well you don't list your board model, but if Qflash won't let you roll back then you can use FPT. Try this link or go to TT Gigabyte forum and find it in Latest Overclocking Programs thread. Unzip and follow instructions. This was helpful for me to downgrade from Broadwell back to Haswell BIOS on my UD5H. thumb.gif

It's in sig rig (can't see it in mobile mode ocn): z97x-gaming.g1 blk wifi. I'm gonna try f7 and see how it goes. I'm stock right now btw.

edit: F7 seems a lot more stable with my games. i'll sit on this one for now.

post will be a bit long looking for help with my Z97MX-gaming5:

have had my system running for about 1 year without issues, a few weeks ago i noticed some audio 'lag' or distortion during normal use (normal use for me is around 50-60% system load watching a twitch stream in background + mysql Database+ multiple poker clients). I installed latency mon, memtest, crystaldiskmark and a few other programs and got to troubleshooting. Its been a week now and im no better off then a week ago. Have been running windows 10 since start of problems and am now 3 clean installs in with no fix yet. Below is list of everything i've done.

-Update to newest bios (F6)
-clean installs of windows 10 with no connect to internet and installing the GB MB drivers prior to updating windows connected to net.
-installing geforce experience custom without the audio driver to avoid conflicts.
-adjusting all in windows and in bios power settings to 'full power' at all times so no idling ever
-connecting multiple speakers/headphones into MB jack, connecting speakers into monitor instead of mb
-trying multiple different usb internet adapters, using no usb adapters and just ethernet.
-windows memory test and memtest all pass fine ram is good
-able to pass 20 passes of realbench 264 and 2 hours of realbench with 4.6oc
-aida 64 with all options checked + intel XTU running simultaneously and no crashes for 8 hours
-set bios to optimized defaults
-crystaldisk says SSD is all good no error or anything.

so i've tried every possible option change ive found online up to this point. no matter what i do latencymon will eventually throw errors saying that i have power throttling issues. and if i run my pc in normal use as stated at the beginning i will get cpu usage spikes+ audio stutters.

Sounds like a Win10 driver not working well. Do you have an extra drive to revert to Win7 or 8.1? It would be good to rule out the hardware.

I'm having an issue where the motherboard would do a bios boot loop. Well at least it sounds like it. Computer turns on then makes like a reboot noise (sounds something like that, not the POST beep) and keeps cycling forever. I have to turn the computer off and on a few times to get it working properly. Then the BIOS says it had a boot failure because it did not successfully boot. I have no idea what would be causing it. I run my computer with no overclock. Specs are in the sig. Motherboard: GA-Z97X-UD5H-BK Rev 1.0

Make sure your RAM is fully seeded first. Then check GPUs, after that CPU, for it to not post I don't think it would be a bios problem. Also make sure to check every power plug. This the problem I was having and I have now RMAed everything but the RAM lol. Hoping for you its just a bent socket pin or something not properly plugged in.
