Followed the *readme* instruction included with fptw64(z97). I see a black window pop for a split second and then nothing happens. i dont know what im doing wrong?
I know it worked for me but don't remember exactly what I did, and I just sold my Z97 rig so I can't investigate.
Don't remember now if I ran it from a DOS prompt, or booted a USB stick, just been too long ago to be honest. Keep after it, you'll figure it out.

I've had that happen before, but not sure what causes it. First thing to do is window+R, msconfig and enable all services, make sure you are also running optimized defaults from bios. Another is make sure you are Admin in windows. If none of this helps try different download for ftp tool

or this one

I think I had fpt tool saved on flash drive so I just copied it to desktop, when you rename bios file make sure it is just bios.bin and not named bios.bin.bin because file extensions are hidden

Include RENAMED "bios.bin" file in folder.

Aha! I think i know what I did wrong, it was probably the file extension, bios.bin.bin haven't thought of that! That's what you get when you have a fresh install of Windows and forgot to change to show extensions! I feel so dumb right now haha. +Rep Thanks a lot!

Meh, i celebrated too early. Still not working, redowloaded everything several times, tried different downloads, But still no succes.

Hi.

I have a 4770K @ 4ghz 1.122 V stable on a Z87-D3HP. This day, i've broke my pci express 16x port when installing a GTX1080... Heavy card and bad human too frown.gif. I was happy with my Z87 D3HP...

still need a normal pci port (asus essence st soundcard) and in precipitation (need my pc...) i bought a Z97P-D3H.

And there I see that there is also the Z97-D3H. And also there would be a difference between the VRM/ Phases/ performance between these two cards.
Did I should cancel my purchase to take a Z97-D3H?

Thank you for your help

I'm having this same problem, For the life of me can't figure it out. I tried the same steps nothing changed, I'm not sure about the next move.

Well the flash programming tool absolutely works, because I used it several times on my former Z97X-UD5H. I can't sit down and work it out for you because I no longer have that board and I can't remember now how to go about it. tongue.gif
Maybe try the UK Gigabyte forum and see if someone can help.

Sorry dude. I thought I'd flash the newest BIOS. With that board my 4790k did 4.8 GHz at 1.28 V rock stable though..

My board is Z97x UD3H BK, I've OC my board on F6 stable at 4.8Ghz 1.78V stable. I don't know why I did F8 Flash, Everything I try an setup is not stable. I thought it was just something I wasn't setting so opened up a guide, Looked it over scratched my head an said "I F#$%@# Up" Stuck. I'll give it another shot in a few days never had issues with my 4690k, Its a good chip.
