This is a performance gaming build in a 750D. I want extreme (stable)overclocking and ULTRA game settings at high FPS.
I have been in the I.T. field for 5 years and work with massive server farms, mainframes and advanced data center enterprise solutions all day. So I am not a noob when it comes to computers. BUT, every single thing that ive ever worked with has been air cooled
. Now I get to work on my own water cooled project!
This will be my first liquid cooled build and am very excited about the journey!
I just received my Corsair 750D in the mail today and am starting to plan out the build.
I already have 1 EVGA GTX 760 4 gb card that I was thinking of running in sli, but as my research has found, they are quite difficult to water block.
I am planning out a total budget of around $5,000.00 (US) over the course of several months, every week or 2 I will be adding another piece to the puzzle. WARNING - This is not going to be a FAST build, I am going to take my time. Especially since the "Devils Canyon" chips are dropping soon.
I am open to any suggestions due to my lack of experience with Liquid cooled projects.
Edit 1 : Here is a list of the parts I will be ordering. With what I have listed here that leaves me with around $1,000.00 US for the water cooling endeavor!! http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3IvcO
But I a have a decent job, my Mrs. has a decent job and everyone has to have a hobby right?? Mine, just like yours, happens to be a very expensive hobby.
On that note, I decided to scrap the EVGA 760 SLI idea and go all out with a GTX 780 ti SLI water cooled setup, so there is $1400+ out of the budget already. LOL
I bought 7 SP120 quiet's so I can do push/pull for the 240 front rad and pull for the 360 top rad. Then 1 AF140 quiet (white LED) for the rear exhaust.

I really need to stop researching motherboards and just buy one. This thursday is payday so that is the day I will be ordering. I have less then a week to make a decision. I am really leaning towards the Maximus VI Formula but the Extreme keeps rearing its ugly head. I plan on doing a full board water cool so if I do the Formula I will be replacing the stock anodized aluminum cooler with a metal that will match the rest of my loop. I just need to bite the bullet and go for one...
Subbed. My budget was around 1,700$ for my build, since Im a college student and all. Cant wait to see what you do with 5k$ lol
Below are my parts. I kept the case, SSD & HDD from my original build and then threw in the rest. the processor was from IRE (Intel Retail Edge) so thats how I was able to pull off the budget.

Very nice my friend! Yes, I was VERY poor during college but that was mainly because I spent all my money on beer LOL
But it was totally worth it because I stuck it out, graduated, and several years later I am able to blow $5k+ on the computer of my dreams! I'm pumped to see some pics of your build so link it to me whenever you start it up. And thank you very much for the sub, it will be a kick a$$ ADVENTURE!!

I'm gutting my old and building my new computer in about a week or two, I will definitely take pictures while I do it, so I will share when the time is right. I feel so out of place in this subforum because I don't touch watercooling :x
