Stress testing a 4770k issues with standby mode

hi all,

I know this seems like a pretty generic question but would an overclocked 4770k crash if windows would override the system to go into standby mode?
mainly because I run windows 8.1 with an exchange server in the default mail app (requires some security settings)

thanks in advance,

It shouldnt. standby mode simply puts the pc to sleep. overclocked or not. it should be fine.

are you overclocking from windows or bios?

Leave it overclocked using the bios. I have oveclocked my 4770k and set the pc to sleep no. problem. im also using windows 8.1 on that machine. works just fine.

When I had problems with sleep, those were always unrelated to the overclocking. It was always like that even on old PCs years ago.

I'd try updating BIOS and chipset drivers and maybe other drivers like networking or audio or whatever extra controller chips for USB3 and SATA the board has.
