No i live in Europe actually. And yes that mouse is perfect, but i don't have a credit card so i can't order it and it's price in the local store is still most likely 60 euros. I might go to the bank these days to get one though. I've seen plenty of products selling on the internet with huge discounts.

I actually have a XL747H with broken cable at home.

Will look for it and open it up for sensor information.

There actually is a thread you made saying 740k uses the 6010.
Gaming mouse sensor list and reported dpi steps seem to confirm that.
I also believe the 747 and 740 use the same sensor.

OP how fast is too fast? What's your cm/360?

I had a friend in the same situation I made him get an x-718bk. Coating quality kinda sucks, but the rest is ok. Tracking speed on 400 dpi around 3m/s

Some feedback on the click switches would be great too.

To tell you the truth i don't know jack squat about sensors, but maybe you can tell me if you remember whether it could handle fast movements or not.. would appreciate it.

Well im a casual gamer who likes to play FPS games on a slower sensitivity (not extremely slow, but slow), so im not looking for anything with ultra mega speed, i just need it to be able to handle it. Im not sure what my cm/360 is, but maybe you can point me to a web site or a program to test it so i can tell you.

Im asking about this particular model because i can buy it right away from the nearest store, and it's not too expensive.

Well the gigabyte mouse you had has a max tracking speed of 28 ips(inches per second), like most desk mice.
The a4tech will be much better.

Yeah and they advertise it as a gaming mouse with ultra speed and million buttons and what not, how preposterous. I wonder if they even test them before they put them for sale.
I guess i learned a lesson the hard way.

I appreciate you trying to help but putting the right numbers in the empty bars seems kinda complicated, especially since mouse speed tends to vary from game to game.
I'll try this.... My mouse speed in pointer options is currently set on the fifth bar (just below middle), and lets say on a scale of 1-20 sensitivity .. i play on somewhere between 3-5 depending on the game. If this was the sensitivity bar [____|________________] Should be there somewhere smile.gif

And the gigabyte crap couldn't even handle a 5cm movement without stuttering like crazy which made it impossible to turn even 45 degrees, let alone 360 (not that i ever needed to, even 180 is rarely needed but still). Hope this helps biggrin.gif

Pointer speed of 5 drops counts from the mouse inconsistently use 6 or 4.

6 is 1:1, mouse counts 1, cursor moves 1 pixel.
5 drops a count every 4. Mouse counts 4, cursor moves 3
Values 4 to 1 divide counts by 2,4,8,16.
1 is 16 times slower than 6 but is consistent.
Higher than 6 you skip pixels on screen.
At 10 your smallest mouse movement is 3 pixels.

here is a reference (I have it saved on a .txt file, credit to who originally posted this, don't remember)

slider pixel/count
1/11 = 1/16(ok)
2/11 = 1/8(ok)
3/11 = 1/4(ok)
4/11 = 1/2(ok)
5/11 = 3/4(every 4th count ignored = inconsistent)
6/11 = 1(ok)
7/11 = 3/2(every 2nd count gives 2 pixel movement = inconsistent + pixel skipping)
8/11 = 2(pixel skipping)
9/11 = 5/2(inconsistent + pixel skipping)
10/11 = 3(pixel skipping)
11/11 = 7/2(inconsistent + pixel skipping)
