Is a Z worth it? - Page 2

Hello all,
I currently own a SoundBlaster Z paired with Sennheiser HD650 headphones and love it. I primarily game with my setup but music and movies also sound excellent. Sound stage with this setup is very nice when gaming as well. I highly recommend a SoundBlaster Z.

Nice to read that asphalt =) im afraid to ask for more advice but im realy in doubt of buying any soundcard. There are so many opinions about audio O.o

And i do believe how audio cards dont add much quality they seem to filter out the noise from your pc.
and the software tweaks up some settings.

Just FYI, "filtering out noise" IS an part of the greater whole that defines "quality", encompassing THD+N, crosstalk, true SNR, etc.

You can actually see, or rather hear, this for yourself with your front audio connectors.
Get some TechFlex EMI/RFI resistant braided metal sleeving, sleeve the front panel wire with it, and hear it go from crappy to quite acceptable.
