Seems okay.

Should ask your 'someone' for technical reasoning rather than being annoying. 'ermagherd non-heatsinked VRM' doesn't really make a huge difference in this case.

is the build i ve chosen ok for casual use?

I think it's not ok for casual use, and here are some of the things I personally think you should change:

Your CPU can be the i5-4570, which is faster than the one you chose, but is quite cheap. Unless you are overclocking, I think the i5-4570 will be sufficient (If you really want a very cheap casual usage pc with no need of gaming, you can always go for the AMD CPUs, which will save you some money)

I personally think you should get a HDD instead of SDDs if you're using it as Casual PC. I'd recommend Western Digital 1TB Caviar Blue, because it's cheap, but faster than the SeagateBarracuda (this is as far as I know), but it's your decision on the HDD. Just don't get TOSHIBA HDDs, as they have the highest rate of failure (breaking apart, having some of the files lost etc).

Your RAM Memory is a bit too strong for a Casual usage PC. I think it should be something that is DDR3-1600Mhz, such as G.Skill Ripjaws X 8GB series. If you want something even cheaper, you could always get the Crucial Ballistix Sport, which is a 8GB stick.

Instead of Asrock, buy your motherboard from GIGABYTE, MSi or even ASUS (if you can afford it). As far as I know, they are much better quality motherboards than Asrocks'. I would recommend MSi H87-G43, or GIGABYTE GA-Z87-UD3. The motherboard really depends on you and your budget, but those two are fairly cheap, and also good.

The PSU can be 500W for safety, and in case you buy a cheap Graphic Card, but it is really optional, and I think 430W will do its trick to run the PC if you're not buying any Graphic cards. I'd recommend the Corsair CX500M 80+Bronze.

I haven't heard of the case you put on your list, so I'll just make a cheap PC case recommendation. I would go for the NZXT Source 220, since it's cheap, fairly good looking, and also great quality for the price.

I'm not a expert in these, but I have read a lot of reviews, and researched quite a bit. I hope I helped you in any ways smile.gif

So here's the list I made with those changes:

Case: NZXT Source 220 (Black)
CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 (6MB Cache, up to 3.90Ghz)
PSU: Corsair CX500M (500W) Modular - 80+ Bronze
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 7200RPM 64MB Cache/ Seagate Barracuda 64MB Cache 7200RPM 1TB
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport DDR3-1600Mhz (1 X 8GB) / G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3-1600Mhz (2 X 4GB)
Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-Z87-UD3 / MSi H87-G43
