Is this RAM good to go for my mobo? - Page 2

I tried Vengeance on a X79 Sabertooth had major instability at Corsair's recommended settings. I swapped the memory out and everything worked as expected. Now this may have been a compatibility thing between Vengeance and the X79 platform in general which is well documented out on the web so don't read my posts as "Vengeance will not work in your system".

Hard for me to recommend something for you. I am quite happy with my GSkill Ripjaws Z but there are just soooo many options out there. Someone else here may be able to chime in but in the meantime I've used Newegg as a research tool. Lock in how much memory you want in the search options and start reading through the customer reviews. That should give you a good, rough idea of what is popular and reliable.

Another option would be to use the QVL (Qualified Vendor List) of the motherboard you indent to purchase. It's simply a list of memory kits that have been tested and known to work with the board. It is not necessary to adhere to that list but it might be worth looking at.

If you are moving away from the triple channel boards you might want to look at this ram
Crucial Ballistic Sport Low Profile Ram - 32 GB kit

That would max out your memory capacity and offer you full compatibility.
