Yeah, I think you're right, but give them a few more years to expand and show all the "alien spaceship" case manufacturers how it's done and I think they'll have the neccessary funds to do it. Certainly can't be a personal problem, they could find those easily over here. Btw. your avatar annoys the hell out of me tongue.gif

@Caselabs: I'm curious, how many of your sold cases actually go to europe?

I'm not sure they will grow that big tho, I mean they are like the McLaren of computer case, it's still a niche market.
On all the bla about their price, I was like, "na, I could never trough that amount of money in a case", then I realized I bought for 1500€ worth of graphic cards (765€ a peace to be exact), I might as well but them in something good... And I regret nothing!
Got my power supply today, I hope I can wire it all today and start filling the watercooling. wheee.gif

I wouldn't discount us from growing. We've grown immensely in the last few years, especially within the last 8-10 months. We're nearly at 60,000 FB followers. That's a six followed by four 0's. Pretty impressive numbers given how we're considered "boutique." That doesn't mean we've sold 60,000 cases, but it does mean that our exposure is increasing exponentially as time goes on. Why, back in August we had 400 FB followers. We were once a small store doing a few orders here an there to being constantly busy, spread across 5 other etailers and the train just keeps going.

The biggest problems we face with overseas distribution is someone who's willing to store the multitude of configurations, parts, panels, etc. We sure don't. We build every chassis to order, and we ensure that the quality of each piece going out is to OUR satisfaction, not some corporate check off on an assembly line. Then they also have to package each one properly.

As the great philosopher Greg Graffin once said: "Quality or Quantity, don't tell me they're the same." thumb.gif

I think a "0" got lost there (4000 in August) but nevertheless the growth has been far greater than I ever imagined it would be smile.gif and that's due the efforts of an incredible team of people like Kevin and Jason. The Mercury series changed the landscape completely for us. I was really supposed to be working on something else rolleyes.gif but the S3 concept popped into my head as I was driving home one night and well... here we are biggrin.gif

I would say about 20% of our cases go to Europe. About that many also go to the Pacific Rim/Australia. The problem with overseas distribution is that realistically, you have to sell preconfigured cases, and forgo customization. Many people are unwilling to do that. Ideally, you would have a service center that would allow for custom ordering, but that would be a huge commitment and one I don't see happening any time soon rolleyes.gif

Hell, I could store them under my bed for you biggrin.gif But seriously, I think it's great that you care so much for the quality of your cases. That's one of your biggest selling points for me. Even the so called high-end that's currently out there can't compete because they are either a mass product, with all the cons that does entail (e.g. Lian Li cases are made of alu but way too thin, not sturdy enough and not as well conceptualized, although they play in a similar price league) or they are just big, rectangle boxes, without much thought gone into.

The europe expansion can wait (I just ordered an SMA8 biggrin.gif). What you should concentrate on imho is better visibility, a more attractive website (although I won't say it's bad as it is currently), presentation and youtube videos. Additionally, I think you're still missing a case in the "mainstream range". I'm thinking of something like a downsized, cheaper SMA8 with maybe just enough room for a 480 or 360 in the bottom chamber. That's probably where the big money is to be made.

As a funny side note: you could try selling some custom systems for profits, like the german caseking does. 12.000 euros, that's what I'd call a profit margin thumb.gif

I currently have a Silverstone TJ11 case that I have heavily modded for my water cooling project. I have come to the conclusion that this case will not be sufficient for all my equipment. I am interested in the CaseLabs SMA8 case. I have experience with Lian Li, Corsair, and Cooler Master cases but I have never owned a CaseLabs case before. The issue I have had with Lian li cases is that although they are nicely designed, they use thin aluminum for the main chassis and is IMHO inferior to the quality of the Silverstone TJ11. Likewise, I was not happy with the quality of the Corsair and Coolermaster cases I've used compared to the TJ11. For anyone with experience with both the TJ11 and CaseLabs cases, could you please provide a comparison between the two cases regarding the sturdiness of the chassis. Is the CaseLabs SMA8 case as sturdy and well built as the Silverstone TJ11?
Thank you

I have never used a Silvestone case however I will say after playing with a case labs case last week for the fist time, they are amazingly sturdy and very strong. With my 900 D If I pick it up or move it I can feel the case flex even when it was empty. I picked up a Case Labs sm8 and it was firm and did not feel like it flexed at all.

Just something to think about, Case Labs have the removable motherboard tray, if the case is flimsy then this tray would be hard to remove. Every Case Labs case ive seen the tray removes easy and with no issues.

for what its worth, I do not own a Case Labs case, but im very close to pulling the trigger its just hard to swallow the cost of what I want in the SMA8 line.
