assign macros as hotkeys

I am in need of a macro for one specific purpose, and am facing one problem. my keyboard does not have any macro keys. I have a logitech mk700/mk710 keyboard and mouse combo, which has no macro keys, and the software only goes as far as assigning each function key one key combo.

is there a piece of software i can install which will let me press one key combo to start a macro? or possibly give me an icon on the desktop which will run it?

Yes, it's called AutoHotKey. It's a free program that lets you do what you are asking plus more. You have to learn the language or download sample scripts and make changes to them.
Here are some examples of what it can do: http://www.autohotkey.com/docs/scripts/

yep, autohotkey is awesome. spent all morning coding in it, and i feel like i may even switch away from assigning the hotkeys to display fusion, and write all the code myself. either way, great find!
