QFT!!!
SF4 and MvC are two games where my digital sense of moral indignation with the game industry get tossed out of the window. My friends and I have played nothing but MvC all day on Saturdays for almost two years. Before that it was SF4. I know I should be outraged in some way because if you guys think BF, Halo, CoD etc etc etc... are bad for milking a franchise you haven't been on the fighting game scene, it's just exepected, and almost disappointing when they don't. *Cough Injustice Cough cough*

This is much more than just a couple of new characters, stages, and balance changes. There are significant changes to the gameplay mechanics that open up a whole new world of options. Compared to AE 2012, it may as well be a new game. There's a difference between milking a franchise and keeping one of the (if not the) world's best fighting games fresh.

Not to mention, this is a staple of Street Fighter since it's beginning. This is nothing new. It's always been done this way. Fans of the series know this. It was like this in the arcade, then on SNES and other systems; so on and so forth.

100% agreed, fighting game devs often favor evolution over revolution.

Would you mind elaborating on how this occur with this game? I pretty sure its a straight forward "copy & paste" and add a few sprinkle here and there.

Red focus, delayed wake up, W Ultra, Online Training mode, Youtube Uploads, and the balancing changes are huge. Changing around frame data and making it work as to not break something isn't just a copy & paste. There's also more which I won't get into.

Casual players of the genre need not enter. You come off as clueless when you post.

You can pretty much count this as the last version of SF4 since Ultra will come with Edition Selection. In this mode, you can choose any iteration of your character from any version of the game. No more saying "if I had this version of this character back". You want Vanilla Sagat back with his 60% damage combos? You can play him.

For a fighting game enthusiast such as myself, $15 for an upgrade is great for this amount of changes to the system, new characters, and stages. So much better than the COD DLC map packs.

If you're just entering into Street Fighter, $40 for Ultra which includes all previous DLC since 2009 is a nice deal. I'm definitely going to pick this up on my PS3.

I'm still waiting on a PS4 version of something like this. PS4 still get's barely used on my end, not many games that catch my interest yet.

I cried many nights when they nerfed Adon's wake up, sad-smiley-002.gif I'll be wrecking havoc with him for fun whenever I get the chance however I don't think Edition Select is making it to online mode. Those edition select dream matches will have to happen locally. Combofiend stated they'd look into adding the mode for online play but I've seen no updates to it.

Woah! Dial it back man, you're not helping the FGC when you come across as an elitist, maybe he is a casual, he's never going to support fighting games if he thinks people in FGC are a bunch of elitists. Educate him sure, but don't knock him for not knowing. There was a time when you didn't know what plinking or a frame trap were. We all start out as casuals.

On topic though, one of the biggest additions is being able to select which version of a character you want to play. So if you wanbted to play Sagat in all his OP'd glory from Vanilla, you can match him up against Sagat from 2012 AE. It's going to be pretty cool.
