Ok so I found the trailer for the Sims 4 finally

First off, they are being far too generous with this trailer. Not only does it show off the powerful create-a-sim, but it also kind of shows (near the end) the new build mode. Serious stuff coming from them, heres hoping the game turns out great. thumb.gif

Is that a prototype zero point energy field manipulator in the background at 4:34?

I hope it has an option for direct controls. I've always had more fun with the ones with direct control than the ones without.

This looks interesting, never played a Sims game before, but I might try this.

Same looking with Sims 2 and 3 with just some tweaks around. Seriously they have to do something about those stupid graphics. I don't mean that have to implement Crysis style graphics or a heavy game for benchmarking. But seriously this looks the same with the old. They could do way better. They cant give me a reason to buy this. I mean if you are not a hard Sims fan it is the same game with same looking art and graphics and just some more options. And the expansion gonna follow the same pattern with slightly different names. Expansion for holidays, for pets etc.

The Sims franchise sells extremely, extremely well and it is a tried & true formula. No need to change what's broken. The graphics look pretty damn good for being a Sims game. Definitely a step up from Sims 3.

This is what bothers me most about the Sims after the first game. All the expansions are re-released for each game to get near the same experience you had with the previous, you HAVE to buy each expansion. Looking at Steam right now, all the content for Sims 3 is $429 and another $19 for the base game, then on top of that, you have the SimStore (isn't required, but there are some nice items in there). There are sometimes sales for 75%, but it seems like that is the only time it is anywhere near worth it. In the end though, it is EA...doubt the numerous re-release expansion business model will ever change till they stop making Sims titles.
