I'm confused

I was looking at some build logs last night for inspiration for my future Case Labs TH10 and couldn't understand how this loop was working.
How are there three lines off this pump res combo. I see the reservoir top has one inlet, but there are two lines coming off the pump top. How can you have two outlets on the same pumptop? The smaller EK is going out to the CPU and the other line looks like it's going over to a radiator and then a return in the reservoir top. I have that same combo and my top has only one inlet on the top lid, so I could only use it to fill the loop.

The inlet at the top of the reservoirs are more than likely fill port lines that probably go to a fill port fitting at the top of the case. The two lines coming off each pump top would the the in and out for the pump/res

That's an input and an output coming out the sides, not two outputs. I'm guessing the pipes coming out the top of the reservoirs are fill lines, but that's a weird way to do it IMO since I'd think that would make the water in the body of the res stagnate. There's stuff going on in that loop we can't see in this pic though so it's hard to tell what's what.

Ok thanks I really couldn't figure this loop out. Is it true that having the return on you loop, going to the top of the reservoir better for flow, than having the inlet on your pumptop? I'm asking because this is my setup now, and I'm thinking of getting this reservoir top instead of the single fill port I have right now for my res top.

No way, it won't make any difference to flow rate. On some pump/res combos it can make a difference as to how easy it is to bleed out air but the EK model you have works differently and it isn't a problem at all.

If you do decide to use the multiport top just be sure to also get one of the Acrylic down tubes they also sell and a couple of extra stop plugs as the top only comes with 3

a tube res connected directly to a ddc pump sees improved water flow when it has a down tube pointed directly at the pumps inlet. it also helps keep the water from vortexing which happens on ddc pumps using the top inlet which feeds directly to the impeller. sometimes it keeps it from sounding like a blender.

So you're saying I should get a multiport top and make one of those ports my inlet?
