So I've got the upgrade bug again. That means that I just ordered a new PSU (EVGA Supernova 1300 G2), and I'm picking up a third 780 in June when I get back from vacation. The problem is that tri-sli 780s is complete overkill for 1080p, even with 144hz.

So I need to upgrade my monitor too. Having never run at any resolution above 1080p, I'm having a hard time deciding what I want to do. I know that I will not sacrifice high refresh rate no matter what. It needs to be at least 96/100hz, preferably higher.

I'm stuck deciding between picking up a pixel perfect Overlord 27" (1440p) that's OCable to 120hz or two more VG248QE's for some 3240x1920/144hz portrait surround. The price difference is negligible, so don't use that a a a part of your decision. Some people may suggest it, but I'm not really interested in Asus's new ROG Swift simply because of the big price tag compared to other 1440p screens. G Sync isn't worth that much to me, and I'm not paying $800 for a single TN panel.

Any help, insight, experience, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

The Overlord looks 10x better than the VG248QE (Lightboost) which has poor image quality even by TN standards and TN's look awful in portrait mode. Either sell your VG248QE and save up for the PG278Q or get an Overlord.

I'd go the 1440p/120hz route, less issues running surround, and better picture quality IPS vs TN.

Get the QNIX QX2710. I have it and it's the best quality 1440p IPS/PLS monitor I've seen to date.
