I need advice.

Thread Starter
Currently I'm running a AMD 1055t@3.8ghz, a Crosshair IV Formula Motherboard, and a Asus r9 290 Direct CUII OC.

Current monitor is a 27" 1080p LG screen from 2008.

I've got about 900$ (MAXIMUM 1000$) allocated to buy computer parts.

I want 1440p gaming.

The game I NEED to be able to maintain 60fps in is BF4 multiplayer.

The options I see are:

1: Second 290 and a 1440p screen.

2: Asus Maximus VII motherboard + Haswell refresh processor. (It's gotta be a ROG board for me! I'm spoiled!) + a second 290.

3: Asus Maximus VII motherboard + Haswell refresh processor. + a 1440p screen.

I'm only coming here because it's proven rather difficult to find real world stats on CPU bottle-necking for my specific situation.

Thank you in advance.

-Jack

Just to be clear, option two doesn't include the monitor? Is 1440p the main goal or a secondary goal?

If you are looking for a cheap and good 1440p monitors, I bought 3 Crossovers, for like 1000box (the 3!) about 300 box for one. You should really consider those monitors, they are really good, and Overclockable (but I didn't tried yet)

Cheers.

Sorry, I should have clarified. Option 2 represents a more drawn out strategy. I'd buy all the necessary hardware now, and pick a monitor up in 3-5 months.

I've seriously been considering the korean monitors, and I've done quite a bit of research on them. The one I was most drawn to was the Qnix Evo II. But, at the same time, I'm still wary of making that purchase, and have also looked favorably at the slightly more expensive Asus pb278q.

Thanks.
