I'd reccomend it to some, depending on the game. I do really appriciate what you are saying and the 6-core xeon and agree a lot, just want to stress some that it can help a lot in some cases or not help at all in others

I appreciate what you are saying as well, I agree that both options have their strengths/weaknesses. For me, Z87/Z97 Haswell/Haswell Refresh doesn't have a big enough performance gain over my current system to justify moving to a new chipset. It's a matter of personal preference, I don't like changing sockets until I feel it's absolutely necessary. LGA 1366 has served me well for 4 years and still offers great performance at a very affordable price.

I think I'll probably move to X99 a few months after Broadwell-E comes out. I'm hoping X99 will have have the longevity of X58, and from what I've read so far it seems very possible considering Intel might release unlocked Haswell-EP Xeons that are compatible with X99 boards ; ) Hopefully this is true and 3-4 years from now I will be able to buy a used unlocked 14-core or 18-core Xeon on eBay for a super-low price and keep my X99 system's performance up-to-date.

For every one info and knowledge watchdogs requires 3GB VRAM if want to play at ultra setting
So yes you need to upgrade to 4 GB 670 or some thing 3 GB if want to aim for ultra settings

very much agree, I am running that very same spec, and have to say the X5660 or X5650 would do you nicely to stretch out the X58 platform for a few more years anyway, and the price is just about right. The X5650 is selling for 70~100 usd and the X5660 is selling for 170~210 usd not bad pricing for a hexa core and to breath new life into you system. I could prove the jump in performance, but there is a whole thread doing that link in my sig if you want to drop in and ask a few questions

EDIT>>>>> Vardamir Opinions as well, should have read further before I stuck my big toe in lol
