I've been doing acrylic loops since april 2010 and never had any cracked pipe inside a build either. Did crack a few while sawing (out of hundreds)

Still my conclusions have never been negative about acrylic.
Heck I will probably keep using acrylic the first few years cause I have like 200 pipes in different lengths laying around from 8mm up to 200mm which makes building loops easier.

Still these are my conclusions

Some people are indeed cautious, understandable.
But there are always people who will want to try it first, be a pioneer.
But please .. don't keep bashing them over and over blushsmiley.gif

For me the biggest + on PETG is .... you can use a pipe cutter.
If done right you don't even have to sand edges.
So takes like 3 seconds to cut a pipe on length.

Well I'll be friggin damned. Just tried the pipe cutter method on the PETG scraps I had laying around. Works flawlessly if you don't put too much pressure on the tube at once. It if you go at it somewhat slowly to slice through it, it won't deform at all, and you are left with an incredibly clean cut that quite honestly doesn't even need to be deburred. TIL.

I will say,the tube cutter working with PETG is cool,I like that.

I think being able to use a tube cutter would swing me to try PETG, but also with acrylic being clearer il prob stick with that, im with @B NEGATIVE on this one, i dont intend to chuck my pc down anywhere soon. But it is good that there is a choice one can make to use either PETG or ACRYLIC. smile.gif

LOL... So, for months anyone who attested to the virtues of PETG was attacked or else told they were irresponsibly endangering their system; then -- a pipe-cutter later -- it's not so terrible an alternative. Glad to see that reason eventually led to reasonability. BTW: virtually every pro and con listed by Kinaesthetic were in line with my own impressions from months ago. Well said!

The hammer test is the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen! Who the h*ll uses a hammer on the tubing when it sits in the case??
BTW, there's a difference between acrylic tube and acrylic tube. I have used both EK acrylic tube and Monsoon acrylic tube and there is a huge difference. Ek tubing is much stiffer.
I think PETG is a bit safer overall but I really wish there were more options for fittings. I don't know of metric sources for PETG and bitspower does not have imperial hardline fittings. Soo frustrating frown.gif
