i7 4770 using stock cooler is good or bad

I just upgrade my system yesterday with i7 4770 (no plan for overclocking) , asus geforce gtx780 and asus h87 pro and I have old BATTLEFIELD 3 to install tomorrow and I usually play for 1 hour straight. THE QUESTION IS.. can I used intel stock cooler because right now I don't have a other cpu cooler.

Stock Intel cooler will be fine at stock. Thats what they're designed for. Some people replace them because a small aftermarket heatsink can be quieter.

Youre good to go thumb.gif

What do you mean "Intel cooler will be fine at stock" ?

Stock means standard. As in not overclocked. You said you have a 4770 (non K?) with no plan for overclocking.

Stock voltages, stock CPU multiplier, stock BIOS settings. Using the stock cooler is fine smile.gif

It will definitely keeps the temps in check, but as said above you may consider an aftermarket solution if noise is an issue to you.

JUST ONE MORE QUESTION, what is the maximum safe temperature of i7 4770?
Anything under 75c is fine while under full load. The chip will not throttle until its above 95c. Just dnt plan to run it that hot unless stress testing.
