DIY triple monitor stand? Or buy a Mount-It! stand on Amazon? Or do I need a stand at all?

Been checking microcenter and ebay and have been disappointed with the prices of triple monitor stands since they all cost $100+ which would make sense if these were $300+ monitors, but these are ~$50 used 22" 1680x1050 monitors. Now I'm trying to decide if I should build my own.

I've seen some pretty good projects made of wood for less than $40 like this one

Then I found this on amazon for only $80 with free shipping which looks pretty good

or do i need a stand at all? why not have just three monitors sit side by side? I did that for years with 2 monitors, is there a reason why 3 monitors have to be on a stand?

If you have the desk space, why bother with a stand? You can always go ghetto and put a couple of old books or cinder blocks under each one to raise them a bit LOL.

I had a little nook desk that didn't have enough room for more than 2 monitors. I "upgraded" to a folding table (ghetto fabulous!) and now I have room for a dozen screens lol biggrin.gif
