Exactly, I had a radeon 6870 1 gig back in the day and what killed it wasn't the processor, but the VRAM. Many processors were comparable but the VRAM was higher. I originally was going to buy a gtx 770 and was going to get a 2 gb then realized that would be pointless if ram increased so spent the extra money on the 4 gig version and glad I did. There's been a lot of arguments on forums claiming we will never use 4 gb, that the bandwidth isn't capable of using 4 gb and any argument I had proving skyrim with high res texture mods used more than 2 gigs was shot down or we were told that games are unoptimized if using more than 2 gb bandwidth. Fortunately I didn't listen to all the crap on the internet, IMO I think a lot of pope wanted to defend their choices of saving money going with a lower gig card because they didn't want to admit they were short changing themselves, I feel bad for a lot for people who got short changed but I wanted to secure my investment and now I know it's paying off.
