[GN] Watch Dogs On PC Requires 3 GB VRAM For Ultra Quality Textures - Page 45

Before Watch Dogs, I took benchmarks of Crysis 3 and AC IV as evidence enough that 3GB should be fine (780 vs Titan). Now I'm not so sure, need some Watch Dogs benchmarks.

People with stutter should try out this tweak http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=389072 It is suppose to make a huge difference on games like watch dogs, crysis 3 and arma 3. Be sure to name the exe just right.

Got a 290x, aint even mad.

No stuttering with ultra texture and temp smaa @1440p. Though over 2x msaa stutters begin, but temporal smaa is a beast in quality.

ive noticed vsync locks you to 30fps as well, otherwise with it off you get crazy screen tearing :/
post #445 of 964
Are you sure it's 30fps or just half your refresh rate if it can't maintain close to your refresh rate (double-buffered).

Because if it uses double-buffered vsync then that's stupid.

AC IV did that, I fixed it with D3DOverrider. I've heard that doesn't work with Watch Dogs though. I wonder if driver-forced triple-buffering will.

Wait what. I don't understand. How are you getting 4.5gb of VRAM used if you only have 3gb?

How can you honestly expect that? I've made like 40 posts regarding my performance and our specs are very similar. You aren't going to come close to that number, even with no AA.

It has 1 frame buffering and 2 frame buffering, not sure why people would use 2 frame buffering and get locked to 30FPS. tongue.gif

Murlocke, do you think running Watch dogs @1440p Ultra setting with AA off, would be playable (~40fps) with a single 780Ti?
