Just search for 4790k.

Also, that BIOS doesn't show up in the downloads unless you choose "other OS".

Asus just added a bunch of stuff today, including an updated IME driver (perhaps for DC), and I don't think they are completely through.

First thing I did was search. But nevermind. I saw the BIOS file list, it does mention Devil's Canyon indeed.

They also posted an updated IME driver and realtek audio driver along with the BIOS.
New Aisuite too, bbut the components I use are up-to-date.

It's the pentium. All motherboards have that update.
What is wrong with you? - you are wrong. I don't know why you can't read their supported CPU list. It isn't that hard.

"Anniversary Edition and Devil's Canyon CPU."

That is two things. The Anniversary edition is NOT DC.

I don't have a Z87 or a Z97, so don't automatically assume I have "feelings" on this, others are the ones invested here. Anyway, it could be an error on the definition of Pentium/DC but an error nonetheless, since the sentence ends with CPU, i.e. one CPU. Also you have to combine it with the fact all manufacturers are supporting the Unlocked Pentium as we speak, it's a very expected BIOS update at this point in time.

I don't want to stir anything but it's possibly on purpose to stir the pot about ASUS.

In any case, exclusively Unlocked Pentium BIOSes are very common right now.

They do appear to have pulled the updated CPU list - they seem to have jumped the gun. But the 4790k and 460k were there, this was cut an paste from that page:

Core i7-4790K (4.0Ghz, 4C, HT, L3:8M, HD Graphic, 88W, rev.C0) ALL 1504

So the new BIOS supports DC, they just slipped it out too early.

*** does that mean? I am sure I would best you in any formal sciences "training" you have had, but that has nothing to do with this.

You will see, they leaked this to early.

I don't know. Look, JJ of ASUS, the marketing guy, is roaming the youtube videos (Linus etc.) saying they try to backport it from 9 to 8 but it's a bit shady at the moment etc. He ended up by saying "DC is officially only for Z97".

It could be bs for marketing, or Intel licence restricted. There's also a possibility DC uses features of Intel 9 that are normally destined for Broadwell (vr-zone reported different electrical specifications).

I personally think there are obviously changes beyond the packaging since the capacitors at the back are shown on pics to be completely different. But I would not be too surprised to see it on Z87.

Well without the updated CPU list I can only say it is a hint, but really to have such a list ready to go is telling.

Well it is back on the list. Here is a screen capture:

Anyone know if this is ONLY 1504 that supports Devil's Canyon? I updated to 1505 and I'm getting no boot with my new 4690k. Error code LED is 00.

I still have a non-Devil's Canyon CPU if I need to reflash or something, I just don't feel like taking my heatsink off again lol

I'm running z87 Asus board with my 4790k on 1505 bios (Maximus VI Hero). Try either flashing the bios thru the "windows updater thing" or use BiosFlashback. I used bios flashback to flash to 1505, and have been running DC since its release.

Thank you. I actually just tried the windows updater and it (or the ME update) worked.

I first updated the Intel Management Engine to Version 9.5.15.1730

Then did the BIOS update through the Windows Updater utility to 1505 (even though I had already installed it through UEFI before).

Not sure which part of that fixed it, but it's working now.

Thanks again!
