My biggest problem would be the wired internet part but my house is pretty small and we have an Asus N56U router that's always been reliable for us. So I don't see myself having a problem with everything being wireless. I get a nice 30 Mbps from the basement and from the upstairs and our internet is 30 Mbps. So we have a strong connection.

Don't buy it if you don't need it bro thumb.gif

Yeah i have very low latency with my router. I can stream games fine on my laptop which is 2 floors away. Any latency is below what I can perceive anyways.

You know they posted that the day after I ordered my Xbone controller and dongle. Had to order a wireless 360 controller for the link and going to use the Xbone controller for my main PC. Not too big of a deal since I wanted to move to wireless controllers (been using 2 wired 360). Would of been nice however to use all Xbone controllers or all 360 controllers.

Can't wait to get my hands on my link. Fully wired here so should have optimal results. I have tested out streaming to my backup rig in the past and it worked well. Did seem however that every time I sat down to really play a game on it something messed up. Last time I tested it was over a year ago I think.

At the price I couldn't pass up the link. Really impressed that Valve didn't try and gouge people on this one. It was a smart move "IMO".

I've put in a few hours on my Steam Link amd controller that arrived today! After the updates on both devices and the Nvidia update, its been running without issue. The track pad on the controller takes some getting used to. I decided that my first game had to be Fallout 4. In fact, I hadn't played it yet and went right to the Link. I set the mouse sensitivity all the way up in order to make the trackpad work on the controller. This was well worth the investment, even with the extra learning curve on the controller.

I got my link also. Working great so far. I've had one issue that required me to reset the link (aka, pull the plug). Other then that really happy with it.

Love how small/stealth the link is. I was able to stick some Velcro to the bottom of it and slip it next to my PS3.

Using a wireless 360 pad. Got that working easily. At first starting it up was an issue that required unplugging the link from power. I was about to order the controller when I found out that you can start it with a wireless mouse or keyboard.

I've tested out a fair range of games all of which worked, including running Dragon Age through Origin and Fallout 4.

That's a nice stealth install you have there! I'm glad it doesn't light up, my son would want to poke it and see what it's all about haha.

Do Origin games fill the screen? I haven't tried anything other than Fallout 4 on Steam.

I had a similar issue where mine hung but after I updated my Nvidia drivers (that were released for Fallout 4 and such), I haven't had an issue since. I really like the updated Big Picture mode. It's much more refined than the last time I tried it.

Yea, like the way it kind of just slips in. Without the flash lighting it up you can't really see it. I wasn't sure about heat, but, it doesn't seem to get too hot when in use.

Origin worked perfect. I added Origin to my steam games list. Selected it, let it open, used my mouse to select the game I wanted to play (DA:I) and it loaded up as it should in full screen. The reason I added Origin and not the individual games is so that the saves sync correctly.

Agreed about the updated big picture mode. It seems to of come a fair ways since I first tested it. The hang up was only the one time. I think steam had updated on both the link and my system. I guess it just needed a reboot.

I tried out in-home streaming again yesterday as my Steam Controller came. Playing Fallout 4 the stream was fine with input lag not so noticeable. On other games though I find the input lag even on a wired network distracting. Anything requiring fast reflexes is a no-no for me. I found it difficult to aim in Fallout with the trackpad on the controller even though it feels nice and accurate when using it on the desktop, maybe more tweaking is needed.

My TV is 4096 x 2160 and Big Picture mode is very blurry with black borders on the sides; it doesn't fill the screen. Anyone know a fix for this?

I'm a fan of Valve in general but at present I wouldn't recommend in-home streaming or Big Picture mode to my friends, it feels still like a Beta to me.

Can you stream the desktop? Doesn't matter if you can't control it with the controller (unified remote will do).

I didn't order the controller.

Most games I haven't noticed an increase in input lag. However, I mainly plan on using the link to play 3rd person open world type games. When I tested it using "Super House of Dead Ninjas" I noticed the extra lag in the system since that game is very twitch based.

I wasn't won over by the idea of the controller and didn't buy one for myself. I read that it takes some getting used to and use of the correct settings. For instance the right tracking pad can be setup to replicate a mouse or analog thumb stick. Maybe you just need a little more time with the controller, and some more tweaking of settings. I wouldn't give up on it just yet.

I'm happy with the link and in home streaming. I do agree however that I'd recommend it with an asterisk and I would not want it to be my only method of gaming.

You could when I first tested out steam streaming. I haven't tested it out with the link. I read conflicting reports of it working or not working with the link.

Originally you could start up streaming. Go to the host computer and Alt-tab to desktop. When you'd go back to your client system you had full access to your host system as if you were sitting at it.

I'll have to test it out later and see how it works with the link.
