[Build Log] "DEAD SILENCE" - (4770K/Z87-UD5H/32GB 2400 TridentX/GTX 770/H100i)

Hi all !

Its time for a build_log ! :-)

After i sent the new ordered but broken
(G.Skill TridentX DIMM Kit 32GB, DDR3-2400, CL10-12-12-31 (F3-2400C10Q-32GTX))
RAM for RMA, i got a yet working RAM package back, which still have a problem.
More on this topic below. Another problem i am facing is the H100i which
give me on prime95 test up to 98°C, (no OC) which is for sure not normal. More below.

Another thing is, sometimes the Noctua FANs spin at startup, but fall back
in a way they just trying to start to spin. The left FAN from the H100i stops,
the one FAN back out, and the bottom FAN stops. Is my motherboard broken?
Is that just the PWM thing? EDIT:// Now i watch again, after some time, all FAN's spin.

So, here's the build log. Thanks to fedrosishere, for the name idea, and also
thanks to all who helped me out in my first thread >please review my new 4770k build< !!!

The problems

RAM:

After getting the new RAM kit, first thing is memtest86

with settings: normal 1600:
for 6:01:37 hours:

with settings: RAM "Profile 1" 2400 in BIOS:
for 17:08:49 hours:

with settings: normal 1600: (another one)
for 23:00:11 hours:

with settings: RAM "Profile 2" 2400 in BIOS:
for 17:08:49 hours:

with setting: RAM "Profile 1" 2400 in BIOS: (again)
for 17:08:49 hours:

so... i don't know what this could mean.
Its different failing addresses. Always failing with RAM "Profile 1"
Maybe it's down to CPU temp, and the RAM's are good? For now i use RAM "Profile 2"

HEAT on Prime 95 torture test with custom short run options on no OC (pc case is open)

after just 3 seconds (every "reading program" opened at one time, and not all at the same time)
i ran Prime95 not more than some minutes after i see those high temps.

Prime95 Coretemp

Prime95 Corsair Link

Prime95 HW Monitor

Prime95 Realtemp

Prime95 Speedfan

Corsairlink Info

I've recompiled 3 times and put it together again with GC Extreme paste,
always the same heat. I read about the trick to put some washers
at the back of the plate, which i've done. I feel it makes the temp even worse.

I've tried to put the Turbo mode to off, which brings better temps at around 60-70.
Furthermore, i read everywhere about "the sound that the H100i makes is truly annoying",
i am not hearing any pump, not at startup not at prime, never! Is maybe the pump broken?
I remember a real waterloop from some years ago, that one make "blub blub" and also the pump is hearable at startup :-)
Does that h100i do nothing? Also tried to put the 3pin cable of the pump on different fan headers with no change.
The 3 pin cable of the h100i consist of only 1 cable, is that right?

EDIT://
Now i am going to try the stock cooler with its stock paste applied.

Idle Stock cooler with original paste applied

Idle Stock cooler with GELID EXTREME paste:

CPU-Z Screencast

CoreTemp Screencast

RealTemp Screencast

HWMonitor Screencast

Can we assume i have the worst CPU in history? frown.gif

Meanwhile i have demounted the stock cooler, and also removed the washers from the h100i, cleared again with alcohol,
the same procedure from beginning, with GELID EXTREME. Theses are the latest idle stats now with h100i:

Idle Coretemp h100i

Idle Realtemp h100i

Idle HWMonitor h100i

Idle Corsairlink h100i

Idle Speedfan h100i - sys_fan1 disconnected, 1 h100i fan not spinning, 1 fan back out not spinning.

CPUZ1

CPUZ2

CPUZ3

CPUZ4

CPUZ5

this time i am using intel extreme tuning utility stresstest with only cpu checked
66°

prime95 test - coretemp
90°

prime95 test - realtemp
91°

prime95 test - corsair link
93°

prime95 test - hwmonitor
92°

the continuity of the high temps is there, slightly better without the washers at the backplate.

The h100i fan started working when using prime95.

But who lie to me?

Bios Settings (altough i changed not much in bios, for the sake of completeness I'll post it here)

ok... when i take the next screenshot of voltages in BIOS, here it freezes...
when pressing F12 for a screenshot to USB thumb drive,
maybe its the pc, or its my old 512 MB thumb drive.

to be continued. It seems the problem is the BIOS itself. Waiting for a updated version.
Nevertheless, the normal BIOS screenshot all have worked fine.

Thanks again, for all your help,
