Workstation Build [multi-media]

Thread Starter
Hello,

My mother needs a computer for her job because her laptop is not cutting it. She thinks she needs a really, really expensive GPU so she went to the prebuilt computers and they cost a fortune.

The budget is 800$ (anything below that would be wonderful!) and we live within the US. She believes that if it goes over that, it isn't worth building by itself and instead buying prebuilt computers for only a couple hundred more (1000$). So, trying to convince her, I can up with this but I know it could be trimmed and adjusted by those with more knowledge (some of this stuff she won't budge on with my opinion alone).

CPU: AMD FX-8320 3.5GHz 8-Core Processor ($139.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: ASRock 990FX Extreme3 ATX AM3+/AM3 Motherboard ($99.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill AEGIS 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card ($189.99 @ Micro Center)
Case: BitFenix Shinobi Window ATX Mid Tower Case ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: XFX 650W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($95.99 @ Mwave)
Optical Drive: Lite-On IHBS312-98 Blu-Ray/DVD/CD Writer ($89.98 @ SuperBiiz)
Total: $755.92
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

She wants a good GPU for GIMP, Photoshop and stuff like that and a good CPU because she needs a lot of windows and applications open at once (a real lot) and needs the CPU to last a real long time, especially to a monitor upgrade in the future. And she absolutely wants a LOT of ram. She absolutely won't let me put anything that "looks" cheap down into the list either, she wants absolute quality for her money.

So, this is it. Anything I can edit or what?

Thanks for reading,

P.S

She wants a optical drive that reads and writes cd, dvd and blu ray. smile.gif
