very disappointed. no rgb, 2 big knobs to mix colors and what looks like audio. colors seem to be red and blue? what if i want white backlight?

4 hot keys gone. looks bad.

id go for the legend but that front lip seems too big and like itll get in the way since i dont use a wrist rest.

Looks like shine 3 or corsair rgb for me

I also would like the Shine 4 a lot more without those knobs. Does that part of the board appeal to people specifically, or is it just something that's there and people like the other aspects enough to compensate? I'm genuinely curious as I can't even stand capacitive media keys, but they must be a thing for someone.

Yep. I'd rather be using my hhkbpro but I'm stuck with the ultra long and large corsair k95. I long for a better solution to allow more mouse space.

The mini looks to be your basic 60% standard win key layout. The fact you can blend between the 2 led colors is pretty sharp. I'd want either a red blue to make a nice purple or see if you can do a burgandy. I might also go blue green to get a teal/cyan if they offer that. Maybe if it sells well they'll venture into the 70% range and add the F key row.

For the Shine 4 seeing that the legs are removable is a big plus for me. If you want to use them they look pretty solid and I'd suspect they have rubber non skid feet on them. While not full RGB you can mix shades between the 2 colors and if can be done on a per key basis that's sweet.

I'm not sure why you need 2 knobs for that and not put it in a function layer somewhere. I think the knobs kill it for me. I know a lot of people that use the 4 extra keys over the number pad. The other thing that is a bit off putting imo about the Shine 4 is the big ducky logo molded into the back of the case. Previously they've been fairly subtle with the logo. The spacebar and the meta key on the Shine 2 and not even that much on the 3 so that seems a surprise. We'll see what actually makes it to market.

RGB cannot be done on anything but Corsair for the remainder of this year, after that contract is up and open to anyone

Rosewill seems to have it figured out (kailh)

even if ducky doesnt want to put RGB (kailh) they could stick with 1 color and remove those ugly knobs. Id gladly take that over this monstrosity.

Look at the Mini....it has the same dual LED tech and a lot if not all the same modes as the Shine 4 but no knobs....

its also a mini and not a full size board. If they could put dual leds in the mini without adding ugly knobs, they could do it in the shine 4.

Im holding out hoping that they will change the shine 4 before release. if they dont, ill probably wait until the year of the horse, or pick up a shine 3 to hold me over until the shine 5.

That's essentially the point I was making. If the Mini does it with no knobs then why add them over a handful of keys a lot of people have come to expect. I'm curious what YoT Horse will be. I'm wondering if they'll do the Mini this time.
