HTPC for Video Projector

Hello there !

A friend of mine would like to buy an HTPC for his video-projector. He asked me some help, and I've accepted to build it. At that time, he's not hurried, he must sell his notebook before, so I woul'd like to find something really adapted to his needs up to .

I'd like to built it myself, from choosing components one by one.

I've nerver made HTPC before (only a gaming one at this time to be honnest), so i've been watching up on the net, also in this forum, to find some advised configurations, but there is many contradictions, so I woul'd like to make sure that it's enough powerfull.

So, for instance, I made the choice of a AMD CPU, because it may, according to some peolples, be enough for HTPC.

But my first hesitance is this : An AMD graphics-integred chipset (A-8 or A-10) is it enough to read Blu-ray or huge bitrates' videos with a video projector ?

Or look for a GPU, but in this case, something really quiet !

I'm not really convinced, so I would like to know your opinion wink.gif

Thanks

Both of those should be fine. I've heard 3D takes the most to play but I've never used it or care to myself. If all you want is video playback that should be fine. Most any current CPU can play videos now. I personally use a Nvidia gt610 in my HTPC and that has played everything I want.

Thanks ok I'll try w / out graphic card first, and at least, if the APU doesn't enough, then i'll tell him to buy a little graphic card to alleviate CPU. Thanks for quick response.
