[Build Log] Budget Gaming Rig - "Deus Immortalis"

I'm beginning my newest project, a budget Intel build, and will be trying to regularly keep this thread updated as I do things. The name "Deus Immortalis" is roughly translated into "Immortal Deities" from Latin and will be the working title for this build. I have purchased the majority of the parts already and have tested them to be sure that they were in proper working order. I picked up the processor for cheap and then purchased the other components based off of that. I'm thinking a Greek/Roman deity themed build at the moment, but that may change as I go.
Components (Click to show)
CPU: Xeon e3 1245
Motherboard: ASRock - B75M r 2.0
HDD: 1 TB Seagate Barracuda
PSU: Rosewill 750 Capstone
Cooler: Coolermaster TX3
Memory: Team Vulcan 1333MHz 8GB (4GBx2)
Case: Corsair Carbide 200r

Modding To Do List:
Cut case
Etch and install an acrylic window
Install RGB LED strips and controller
Sleeve RGB LED strip cables

Thanks for looking in! I'll be adding initial images throughout the day and will be working a good bit with the case throughout the week.

Here's the first round of the part images. This will serve as the "things bought" post and will be updated as I buy new stuff. biggrin.gif All of the more interesting posts will follow later!

Ok, so MAYBE I went a bit overboard with taking the original pics, but I like to have GOOD documentation of all these pretty shiny things before I do anything crazy! Some of the images have been inverted, and I have no clue why... O.o strange thing Photobucket is...

This is the link to the public album that everything will be put into.

I love the e3-1245, great processor.

Looking forward to seeing your case work as well!

Thanks! My molding hasn't come in so the only pics I have right now are rough edged pictures. I have the initial hole cut, but still need to pick up my plexi and decide on a solid side design.

I just placed an order for:
5 FT of 3/8" sleeving and 5 FT of 1/2" sleeving (modsmart Kobra, cheap, but shiny enough)
25 FT of 22 and 24 AWG wire respectively (found them for like 2 bucks a roll, so not complaining)
A new soldering iron and accessories (I didn't show enough love to my tip, so the old one is now dying)
Window molding (The original I ordered was the "slim" window molding and I much prefer the regular C-Channel

I had the initial wiring harness for the LEDs lined out, but the wire I had couldn't hold the current (silly me, 26 gauge wire can't hold a whole amp). I have the window cut and did the break and grind on the plexi for the window. Now I have to wait on my new wire to get here to see if it's just what I need.

I'm also using a website I've never used before allelectronics. Not exactly sure on how good their service is, but their prices on hookup wire is phenomenal.

Been a few weeks since I started in on this build and I'm just now getting some free time to work on it. I've cut the side panel, etched and attached the window, and am currently working on soldering the LED connections for the runs through the case. I chose a cool image of the Greek god Ares from Google Images to use for the side panel image. I think it turned out pretty cool. The pictures aren't great since all I had was my phone and some LEDs on a 9v battery.
