Can the Mercury S3 be configured with a reverse or inverted mobo setup? I'd like the main access to be from the righthand side, not the usualy setup. Thanks zz03

No, as the motherboard's rear IO panel needs to face the back. If we were to flip the motherboard all of the ports would be inside the case. But you can access the motherboard from either the right or left side of the chassis as both panels are removable.
Yes I get that but if you invert the mobo so the cpu is down and the graphic cards are up they do face the back, as in my Ultra 923. I was hoping with all the customization options you show that it might be a possibility to arrange it that way. Obviously the backplane would also have to invert. Was just looking at possibilities for an upcoming build that would work under my current desk setup and have good watercooling and usb3.0. Thanks for the quick response.
I have worked on oem computers that opened backwards. The cpu was under the PCI slots. Hp and dell both made some of those. I don't think any cases on the market are that way today though.

You're talking about Reverse ATX. This only applies to chassis where the motherboard sits vertically (any of our chassis with vertical motherboard layouts can do Reverse ATX). The motherboard in the Mercury line is horizontal, so it lays flat within the chassis.
OK! somehow i missed the horizontal mobo placement and need to look closer. but if any of the vertical cases have the choice then that really solves my problem and i will be able to do what i want with the new build. Thank you all for your responses and for straightening me out! zz03
The Merlin series cases (SM5, SM8, and ST10) are all reversible as a standard feature
