Interesting. Dimensions are smaller than the Taipan and says 80g without cable. Weird they would brand it the Abyssus with a completely different shape though.

I was checking Razer's facebook to see if they added any more information and I was once again reminded why most mice are released the way they are and why we can't have nice things. Only three hours after it was posted people are complaining about how low the DPI is and that it doesn't have a weight system. Apparently $50 is too much money because those "features" are missing.

Hey! Go Razer. I'm not a three button mouse guy, but if they can put out a nice three button ambi mouse with a solid sensor, then that's one step in the right direction. Hopefully the l337 gamer douche masses don't give them too much crap for it.

Looking at the product page it doesn't mention anything about onboard memory. I hope this means that they'll be shipping it with the updated firmware to reduce jitter... but after the "Mirror" refresh that didn't seem to fix the problem I won't raise my hopes too high.

The other thing that worries me is that Razer released the PCBang Deathadder which appeared to contain the 3G sensor, but didn't perform half as well as the original Deathadder. Hopefully in the new Abyssus they haven't used the 3.5G and cheaped out on the other internals.

That said if they've got it right then this is an absolute winner.

They won't be using the 3.5G DA/older Abyssus sensor, of course I don't know for sure but it would not make sense. Seing that the A3090 is EOL the even older Razer specific variants are probably too. I'd guess they have something like the DA 2013 sensor with reduced specs or something like that.

Great link +rep.

If I've understood it correctly through google translate (someone correct me if I'm wrong):

- S3888 aka the 3.5G sensor
- Omron D2FC-F-7N mouse buttons
- MCU has been updated
- TCC wheel encoder
- 80g (with an 8g weight that can be removed)

Their paint tests suggest that there is no prediction and no jitter. They state that it performs the same as the Deathadder 3.5G. I'm not too great on technical aspects but I assume that this is because the updated MCU includes the updated firmware. Unfortunately there are no Enotus tests.

I'm now very excited for the return of the "hell mad snake" (as google has kindly translated it).

Sorry I was viewing the pictures on a 5inch phone screen and I didn't zoom in because they seemed to be fine at a glance. Now that I've taken a closely look I see what you're talking about. There are a few lines where it seems to deviate maybe a pixel or two either side.

That's nothing compared to the sort of horrendous jitter that got the original Abyssus such a bad reputation (http://cdn.overclock.net/b/b8/b8aac6d7_jitter.png)!

I'm not trying to say that you're wrong, but maybe we shouldn't write it off until someone on OC.net has had a chance to test it properly on a variety of surfaces.

Oh man this looks great! I hope the new shape is better as I didn't really enjoy the original abyssus shape. Also I guess they went all Razery and added some rubber side grips. Hopefully they feel good and are not slippery but I will probably prefer them over the glossy sides of the original.

I really wish they could have added some side buttons. Why do companies still insist on these smaller mice having no side buttons? Is it design limitations or does it have something to do with the overall cost of the mouse? I'll probably check it out once it's available. If they improved alot from the original this could be a really good MOBA/RTS mouse!
