I believe I know what the issue is.

It is the problem with the Wifi card itself, after talking with ASUS, this particular card will only work in a 1x slot; due to a limitation on the Realtek chip on the board, here is another person with apparently the same issue.
http://support.asus.com/FAQ/detail.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=P8Z77-V%20PRO&p=1&s=39&os=&hashedid=n/a&no=D00B18EC-2C5F-F61B-1FB3-F46BF18DBE2E

So looking at finding a wifi card that works in a 16 x slot.

Thanks
- Mitch

Not sure if garbage wifif card. almost ANY PCIe 1,4, or 8x device should work in 16x slot. afaik this is part of the PCIe standard. Perhaps that is piece of trash perhaps not but, the point is that should be a feature for any wifi card and you shouldn't have to work to look very far.

Yeah, exactly, that was my thoughts, was basically just looking at going up to the slightly better, ASUS PCE-N53, it specifically states in its description that it will fit "any x1, x2, x8, or x16 slot" so hopefully this will clear any issues I am having.

Hey shilka, whats your take on the VS series of PSU's since you mentioned it?

Thanks

Anyway Corsair VS is the lowest worst and cheapest unit Corsair sells its even worse then the CX and CS which is saying alot, only place in the world where anyone should ever buy a Corsair VS is in India due to its very low price there and the almost total lack of better options.

Yeah, I know, I would not normally purchase a PSU that cheap, to me its one of the more important parts of your computer. But whatever, it was chosen by someone else and purchased by him. I'm just building it for him.

Although, I did pull it apart and compared to a few of the OEM PSU's I had lying around from some prebuilt machines it wasn't too bad. Not great by any stretch of the word, but it could be alot worse.

That's my take on it anyway.
