Mostly to increase volts is the best reason to mod the BIOS.

confirm that u can overclock a msi 8600 gts look here explains it and the tools needed

Hi, I have a Palit 7900gs... Would i be able to flash it to a 7900GT?

Also do i have to get nvFlash v5.38 or should i use the latest one?

if the only difference between the GS and GT is the core speeds/clocks etc, then yes you can.

if the cards themselves differ in architecture..then no you cant.

as an example, i had a HD 3870 X2, which is essentialy 2x 3870 cores on a single PCB. one of the cores died, leaving me with half an X2, or technically a single 3870. but the card wasnt working right, so i tried flashing it to the bios of a single 3870, didnt work. wouldnt recognise each other, and they are the same cores.

so be careful.

It's just that i have a Palit 7900gs that is faulty, seems to just reboot my pc if i try to play any games?

There are no palit 7900gs bios files on mvtk so i will be using the xpert vision one..
