There are no palit 7900gs bios files on mvtk so i will be using the xpert vision one..
no worries.

that should be ok (different brand bios), just make sure the GS and GT bios are not completely different, otherwise it wont work.

i mean, worst case scenario, the bios file simply wont write, meaning its not compatible. DONT try it in windows though, make sure you flash it with a boot cd or something via dos.

all you need is the required bios file and a program like Nero. i cant remember the exact steps, im trying to find the tutorial.

but basically there is an option to create a Boot CD, its a bit of a simple step by step.

am looking for the dam site...you can never find a specific site when you look for it.

Thread Starter
There's info on it over at MVKtech somewhere, still easier just to plug a floppy drive in when needed, I have a new floppy drive in the box just for doing this.

Yeah, never flashed bios or done any excessive hardware configuring so I'm a little lost here. I don't have a floppy disc on my computer but one of my other ones might. I was told I may need to flash the bios on my 7900GS 256mb gfx card because the fan controller kept resetting @ 25% speed when I went into a 3D application even when the card was still hot. Not sure if updating the bios will work but it may be worth a try. Can someone give me a full walkthrough on how to do this, or would it not be the best of interest just because of my fan issue?

Do you have a boot disk to load nvflash? If not try looking up Win98 Boot CDs.
