HOWTO: nVidia BIOS Flashing - Page 30

Unlocking pipelines would be good but hard as hell too do i think.
Oh yea also i have my card over clocked to 630/1000 and its running pretty stable. But when i go over that, it starts to get artifacts. So will a different bios with a higher voltage let me go higher without artifacts??? or is that all cooling????

O.K. this was probably aready covered but here it is again to flash your vga bios you will need a windows boot disk be a floppy drive or a thumb drive, in winxp it is easy to make no idea about Vista(I'm still holding out with XP)

I WAS GOING TO HARD MOD MY VID CARD FOR VOLTAGE. Which seems completely INSANE. ? But Im half way newbish. so what do i know.

As far as other things you can do, i am yet to know.
i read something about unlocking pipelines?? Anyone have any input?
Hard mods are pefectly fine..just take you time and go step by step..Your GTS looks to be a G92..should mod according to the guide in my sig.

..As for "un-locking" piplines..this is a myth, like vampires and werewolves. You cannot undo a laser-cut..with any kind of program. [Pipelines are laser cut..from manufacturer..so there is no hope of 'repairing' or 'unlocking' them..regardless of what some program tells you, you have accomplished]

thx for the link to the guide.

I have an old 9600GT laying around. I might make some time for a new project.

If you have aftermarket cooling for that little GT, you can hit close to 1ghz core speed with a vmod.. Unless its EVGA, dont even waste your time with the vMEM mod.. other brands use 1.4ns Quimonda.. it does not need any voltage to clock as good as its ever going to. The 1.1ns Samsung, that EVGA uses though...is a little different story.

It's a PNY card. One of the first models. Has the older heatsink and fan. Not sure if the newer version is better or cheaper.
