To be fair I wouldn't really expect to be able to play on Ultra settings after a year obviously... but still I'd expect to play new titles at mid or mid-high settings at playable frames, I know you certainly can't calculate it or anything but still I'd like to ask if you think this is reasonable expectation? I mean later on(after a year) I'm for sure planning to add the second 780Ti classified and I hope by doing so I'll extend my GPUs life for one more year before I'll really won't be capable of gaming at playable frames, what's your take on it?

Thanks smile.gif

yeah 2 780 ti classys will be fine if thats the plan. vram only becomes an issue when considering unoptimized ports, with everything on ultra and msaa on 8x. if were talking high settings vram wont be a forseeable problem for awhile especially in most games. witcher 3 will not be a vram issue game but moreso a processing power one, same with most games that have pc as the primary system, in that case 3 gb is more than fine

now I'm curious if I should be bothered with this and if you guys think that in near future we'll really see games require more than 3GB VRAM? if this is really the case should I go with EVGA GTX 780 6gb GPU instead of 780Ti Classified?

BTW: at the present I'll be running at single 1920x1080 monitor.

Thanks smile.gif

At 1920 x 1080, 3GB should suffice

At 4K, you need more VRAM

even if it could (and I can't imagine a realistic scenario that it would), it would be a slideshow - a single 780 will have run out of juice by then. That's why I believe those double vram editions are best for sli. Depending on how long you plan on keeping the card, I'd stick with the 780 classy. Its a really good card.

I run 2 780ti classified's and I don't run into any problems. I have been looking at upgrading to 1440p because at 1080p even at 144hz there is only one game that gives me problems and I think we all agree that the game is a steaming pile of horse dung in the optimization department (Watch Dogs). Heck even skyrim with a crazy ENB and tons of mods isn't an issue

I run 1440p with two 780ti's. Never a problem before Watch Dogs. Everything is smooth. BF4 at ultra with extra resolution scaling. 125%. biggrin.gif

I wouldn't use games like Stutter Dogs to base what hardware you would buy. It's a broken game, and people with 6gb Titans have even reported stutters here and there. redface.gif. Get the best hardware for your money.

I'm sticking to my 2gb 770 SLI until those 880's are released to the market wubsmiley.gif

For 1920x1200 you will be more than fine for the next years.it would be different in a year at 2560x1440 or more if they become crazy with the vram usage
