If you read what I had written, I said even 2x GPUs are plenty to run ONE 4K monitor.
Further, if it wasn't unequivocal enough for you, a 4K IPS monitor IS better than any TN monitor out there.
The ROG Swift will be a great monitor in its domain - 1440P/120Hz monitors. A real comparison would be this ROG monitor and the Asus 4K TN monitor since both are around the same price - in fact this ROG is slightly more expensive than the 4K offering from Asus.
To me, I would still pick the 4K monitor since I care about graphics quality and picture fidelity more than just high framerate.
Since I already have 4K, I will get the ROG for the other side of the spectrum - high framerate to be used w/ my 2x GTX-780 Ti Classfied GPUs.
Neither one negates the other but as far as picture quality is concerned, 4K IPS will be better than any TN out there.
If your primary purpose is gaming and you can get only one monitor - the choice is between the ROG Swift and the Asus TN 4K.
Someone on this thread suggested that getting 60FPS on 1080P was difficult even with the latest high-end GPUs which is absolutely absurd. I get 50 - 60FPS in 4K Surround, albeit with 4x GTX-Titan Black SCs, in most games.
The myth of needing Zeus' appendage to run games at their highest settings at 1080P/1200P/1440P/1600P is hyperbole.4K Surround BenchmarksEdited by Baasha - 7/6/14 at 10:38am
