Before going on, one thing is for sure, if Call of Duty: World at War 2 really exists, it is not going to come out until 2015, because currently, Sledgehammer Games is already working on the latest installment in the Call of Duty series known as Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which is due to launch on November 14, 2014. Also, Activision has some sort of deal with Sledgehammer Games, Infinity Ward and Treyarch, which allows each developer to take turns and work on a three-year Call of Duty development plan, so with Sledgehammer developing Call of Duty for this year, we can expect a game from Treyarch in 2015.

While I don't doubt that this is a possibility, since it's unconfirmed wouldn't this belong in the rumors section?

If this is true, though, and they keep the WWII setting, this would be win. I love Treyarch's Call of Duty titles and given that they now have three years to develop their games, I am extremely excited to see their next CoD. Heck, it doesn't even need to be a WWII setting for me to be excited. <3 Zombies! xD

They will ruin it with unrealistic ACOG , red dot sights, foregrip attachments that never existed in WW2, plus some ridiculous perks.

Seriously think about it, if they release something with the lack of upgrades and skins that current COD games have, all the console kids will cry and say " whaaaa wheres the zoom, or ACOG.....olny noobs play in ironsights!! blah, blah!"

At the same time, lets say the game turns good. I hate knowing that just around the corner (aka 1 year exactly) they will move on to a newer COD.
I like when a good game has longer life span then just a year, 2-3 at least.

COD2 was really good, it wasn't too fast, it didn't have an overload of guns or attachments nor any perks.
Return to basics of what cod2-cod4 was, but who am I to tell them.
Games made just to cash in don't interest me anymore, didn't touch one COD since the whole MW2 no dedicated servers, plus the crap attitude they gave PC players.
But maybe just maybe, this will push others to come back to WW2 setting....Im sick of modern warfare.

I hope because the first World at War had a short life and was one of the funnest in my opinion

gross, i hate futuristic shooters. Theres so much to develop and improve on hardware related to our time and i believe it works out better in the end. Shooting through a city near you, instead of some fictional array, i think thats more appealing because it feels more at home.
its a realism to it that makes it more captivating.

I'd be down to buy this. I haven't bougth a CoD since Modern Warfare 2. Anytime I would play newer ones at friends homes I wouldn't enjoy them that much besides zombies. I've been waiting for a new WWII shooter like the old CoDs and Medal of Honors. I doubt they'll go back to the random soldier rather than the special super snowflake wannabe hollywood movie but I'd love to do a new D-Day landing in modern graphics.

I hate future shooters too. It's a way so developers can be lazy since we technically don't know the things that the future brings i.e they can make what ever the heck they want.

This is my thoughts exactly. When I played the first World at War and saw you could unlock attachments such as those. I was like "really? this looks a little too advanced for WWII era" Honestly I would like COD 2 remake. Still one of the best COD games ever made.

I wonder what period of history will be in this game.
The beggining of the war, middle or the end ?
Or maybe alternative history.

How is that being lazy? Wouldn't it be more work to design something from scratch? You'd think using things like guns that already exists would be the easy way.

Since its "World At War", it has to be either the two World Wars. I would love to see more covert operation type missions, some based on true events, hopefully. The North African theater needs more attention too. On a wild assumption, maybe this one will be based on WW 1!?!??!?!?!?!!?!?!?! Trench warfare, muddy and bloody. battles And with no stupid enhancements to keep as authentic as possible!

I held out purchasing a 360 until 2008 when world at war was released. Man was I hooked. It was fast paced mutiplayer that me and my buddies could get in on. We played consistently for nearly 2 years. Great game and looking forward to part 2. Maybe this will influence my xbone purchase? Nah...
