300FSB FX-4300 Stress On the Core 4.8GHZ 1.608V 3900HT + Dead mobo - Page 10

It went all the way up to 1.67v and hit 79c on the cores.

I'm pretty happy with my temps now since its at 61C full load

How do you figure it was only for a min???

Your own pic shows an almost 12hr stress test. And its not like your a couple degrees hot. Your way too hot with way too much voltage.

This is called foolish overclocking. I have a 4+1 phase mobo with an FX 6300. I have run it past 5Ghz and even don stress testing on it at 1.56v without any throttling using IBT AVX 10 rounds at maximum. But I know when to stop and call it a day. You're using OCCT, use OCCT Linpack. Its in OCCT, the tab next to OCCT, it's called OCCT Linpack. Better than that use IBT AVX at maximum for just 10 rounds and then have a look at your temps and let me know if it stays under 70c for even half the test.

This is some extreme foolishness. First, you killed a perfectly good AMD 8 core by 'Extreme Overclocking" and trying to delid it (Which was super stupid and useless). Now your purposely trying to fry a perfectly good FX 4300 for what? Using way to much voltage, pushing right past recommended maximum temperature and your not even using extreme cooling. Just some POS off the shelf AIO. Some good could come out of this tho. If we have more people like you buying and trashing chips, AMD's stocks won't be in the red and they can finally produce a chip that can match Intel's current and next gen chips.

You are right in that he is way outside the recommended voltages and temps. However, he is not suggesting anyone else do what he is doing and it is his cpu to burn up if he wants.

I see no reason to be mean to the guy about it. He has been warned.

We may actually learn those amd fx cpu can take a hell of a beating.

you can get it to 5ghz cause your cpu is a higher bin mine is one of the worst bins you can ever get on the market you might only need1・56v to pass stress but the ones in my country 1・7v or more to do 5ghz
