I7 3930k @ 1.416 v.core safe.

Thread Starter
I have skyrim modded so hell and back. I was running my standard 4.7ghz with a v.core of 1.34 which i know isn't to hard on the cpu. I tried for 5ghz requiring 1.41 v.core and with load line calibration set to high i hit a v.core of 1.416. You think this is safe. I will be running it a few times a week for 12 hours (i play a lot of skyrim). By adding that 300mhz it brought my fps up by about 5-8. It never dips below 38 now and stays fairly close to 50 out in the wilderness. Hell indoors and cities locked @ 60fps. It seems so laggy with 30fps so i really want to keep this setting. I just hope that it doesn't kill my cpu. I am going to be holding on to this 3930k for a good 14 months longer until i can get the 8 core i7 5960x. Just FYI i also oced my gpu 186mhz memory and 38 mhz core. I can't seem to push the core any higher while in sli. sucks which i could get another 100mhz out of the core.

The volts are fine, but are the temps?

Keep them in the 70'C max range while gaming and then you'll be ok. Keep VCCSA and VTT under 1.2v at all times.

temps never even get close to 60.c and i have vccsa and vtt at around 1.5 volts giver or take a little. what do you think the maximum v.core i can run b4 i start losing life of my cpu because i got plenty of headroom for power and heat. Hell i don't even have all my cooling running at max. Like i said i need to get a little over a year longer out of this cpu so i don't want to end up burning it out were i need high v.core to run stock clocks

This voltage is a typo I presume.

1.45v max is fine for the vcore on SB-E. I'd leave it where you are though, temps, speed, and vcore are at a good level.

Those volts are fine for your cpu and temps

On various overclocking guides, I believe it suggests a maximum voltage of 1.2v for VTT and IMC/VCCSA.
It also seems that the recommended limit for Vcore is 1.4v. Intel say absolute limit should be 1.4v, and the recommended Intel limit is 1.35.
