AMD Catalyst 14.7 RC Driver for Windows out now - Page 3

Is this the same reason why when my monitors go on standby, my second monitor causes my machine to continuously make the connect/disconnect windows sound? Only started happening when I got my new card R9 290 frown.gif

For Reference: BenQ XL2420TX as Main and ASUS VN248H-P as second. Gigabyte R9 290.

I get the black screen bug with this driver 55 Seconds after boot, give or take a few seconds. So I'm out till the next revision at least. I'd like someone to post any increases in bench performance if they can who are running this thing right now.

Are you loading an oc profile on boot?

Hi guys,

I got the AOC yesterday.

Since my Motherboard did not have any DisplayPort on it, I decided to buy an NVIDIA card alongside with it.

Unfortunately I'm also stuck at 30Hz under Windows 7.

It's an EVGA GTX 750 Superclocked model.

First I tried the stable release, then the NVIDIA Beta drivers, both the same, can't select more than 30hz.

DP 1.2 is activated in monitor settings. Installed the .inf drivers from the AOC homepage.

Here's the funny part: I booted up into my Ubuntu installation and installed the closed-source NVIDIA drivers there, rebooted, and it immediately felt very fluent. No flicker.

xrandr und the NVIDIA control panel confirm: 60hz @ 3840x2160!
So this seems to be a software issues for sure.

Since I'm more of an Linux user anyway, this is not too bad. But still very much annoying, as Windows is the platform where it should work best. And for the occasional game I still might need to boot up Windows.

Am I missing something here?

Maybe some of you guys can try AMD @ Linux?

youll have to talk to nvidia, AMD released a software fix in this driver set, but there should be a firmware update by AOC to fix iti permanently.

Is the monitor reporting wrong capabilities, or why a firmware update?
dunno, AMD and AOC worked on it together and found a temporary driver fix

AOC is supposed to release a firmware update.

The driver seems to be fine as all of my games play just right. Does anyone know why it puts out so much more heat over previous drivers? I had my first sleep of death in a long time on this driver, but it might be an isolated event (monitor went to sleep and then wouldn't come back on).

Dang.. now where can I file a support ticket of some sort to talk about this?

I'd want to put one for the ridiculous ACEEventLog too -__- tongue.gif . Anyone else see exceptions/errors get thrown in there? I've read online and people seem to just accept it. thumbsdownsmileyanim.gif

I really do wish they revisit that monitor hotplug issue
