It's pretty easy to discern the difference between 30 and 60fps tongue.gif

If eyes can't see hd resolutions, why not make the xbone games run at 480p? At least then the games might run at a frame rate that doesn't look like a slideshow.

Weird marketing stunt, bringing attention to the fact that your hardware is inferior, then saying 'but it doesn't matter because its a perception issue'.

Or that it's completely false for a lot of people. I can easily see the difference between 1080p and 900p or 720p on my 55" TV sitting on the couch...60fps vs 30fps is easy to tell too, it's just that once you get used to 30/are used to it its perfectly playable and fluid and is IMO a non-issue for consoles. (I'd rather they stay at 30fps minimum rather than allowing 30fps most of the time with drops to 20/15 as seen in GTA V)

The thing is Little Johnny won't really know better either if all he has is one console.

Exactly, it's not that you can see a difference it's just that most people don't care enough. I know plenty of people who don't see the point in BR and only went from VHS to DVD because of convenience. That graph you posted doesn't really apply to this discussion however, I feel that it's like comparing movie and game FPS: Despite theoretically being very similar, standards for smoothness are completely different.

Actually, they could have likely gone with more expensive hardware and still made a profit if they didn't do what practically everyone knew would fail and bundle an expensive Kinect 2.0 in with the damn thing. Apparently it accounted for half the manufacturing cost of a Xbox One...

You don't have to believe anyone, but the fact is that I know for 100% sure I can easily see the difference between 720p and 1080p on my TV when I'm on the couch in a normal living room. Even if you don't think it makes a difference, I know it does for me...What MS should be saying is either absolutely nothing about the resolution or "Well, if you're having fun in the games you're not likely to notice it" and then going on about how they currently have the better library overall.

Anyway, there seems to be something weird on the video (maybe it's because I'm at work on internet explorer), but it seems like they locked the video to the ps4's framerate and the xbox one footage has massive screen tearing because of it. It could also be that the xbox one just has that bad of frame tearing, which would deter me from playing on it anyway, because watching the video for a minute made me feel nauseas.

Could be. Go ahead bash NVIDIA all you like, I'm not an NVIDIA fanboy. @DuckieHo and @iSlayer might mind though.

To what benefit? What's the point in doing such a thing... If anything the other party (those not seeing a difference) would be more prone to lying and saying they don't notice the difference lol... to warrant against their setup being inferior.

look at the track marks on the PS4 version!

Also i've noticed when a game comes out on both they tend to not optimize the PS4 version and make use of it's extra power, maybe because it runs better on the PS4 and already lags on the XBO so it's already as good as it gets. the PS4 got patch for assassins creed that upped the quality.
