I went 660ti sli with an fx6300. It just could not keep up. It was playble med/high. When i cranked the settings it would stutter on my sli rig and run decent on my other fx6300/gtx 580 rig.

Fx6300 is pretty good budget gpu although I think g5238 is the better budget buy now.

oh yea sli but i mean single gpu redface.gif

sure a sli will benefit from a i5 or even a 8320-8350 in bf4...

But sli better to go with a i5-i7 single thread...

Well I just ordered:

GPU: Gigabyte R9 280x
CPU: I5 4670k
Mobo: Asrock z97 killer
PSU: Evga 600b
Case:Corsair SPEC-01
and a few 120mm fans.
also grabbed a extra dvi cable.

Was kinda hoping to price match but ya, ncix wont with paypal, staples said they would match microcenter and they took paypal(live chat). Then I found out they don't take paypal after i put money in it/went to place order. Would have just used my debit card if I would have know/got proper info. So had to grab the 4670k over the 4690k..

All tho I'll have to admit I'm a little worried about most my order coming from NCIX(Case/CPU/GPU/PSU since I never bought anything from them before.

Budget was 745$ =(. Thought I was gonna grab the 4690k for 200$ from price match, but ya staples kinda screwed me, with the ya we take paypal, then turned into they don't.. I really don't wanna link my bank account to paypal, so I went up to the local store like 6min round trip and bought moneypak cards to add funds to paypal. was like 4$ short to buy th asrock killer+4690k combo heh. It should be a good upgrade from my 965BE regardless tho.

you should had dropped the thermal paste then

anyways, just like you said, its going to be an upgrade coming from that phenom.

ya it was tight.

Id rather throw my ZALMAN CNPS10X OPTIMA 120mm with push/pull, for some oc'ing then go with intel stock cooler.

Pretty much 3 120fans(+1 Case 120mm) + 120mm Push/Pull CPU cooler + thermal paste(28$) + DVI cable for 2nd monitor over VGA vs.
1 case fan(included) and 4670k to 4690k with stock cooler.
