Corsair HX850 installation question

Thanks for looking. I have a Thermaltake Chaser MK1 case which has an air vent with screen on the bottom of the case. When I install my PSU (Corsair HX850), should the fan face down at the vent or up into the case?

This is my third PSU from corsair now, the first two I installed with the fan facing down and both PSUs died within a month or two of use (could be completely unrelated to the fan facing down, but I don't know for certain). the third one has been running now for about 2 months with no issues so far, but this time I installed the PSU with the fan facing up.

I have just received a second 680GTX and wish to sli, but I do not know if I should keep the PSU as is or turn it around to face downward.

Just not sure what to do, looking for advice, thanks.

Yes, you should install the fan facing down as it should intake air from the bottom to exhaust it in the rear on you power supply. What was your first two power supplies back then? Do you clean the dust filter at the bottom regularly?

It was the same model, within a month or two the first two died while in use and I had to send back for warranty exchange. Guess I have some work to do.

I assume those two power supplies didn't went through quality control when they were in the production.
