Monacelli told Polygon that Naughty Dog plans to add a photo mode like the one in Infamous: Second Son with a launch-day patch, so players can share shots of beautiful vistas. (Even outside of the photo mode, the PS4 version allows players to turn off the HUD, so they can capture pristine screenshots with the DualShock 4's Share button.)
One of the greatest campaigns I've ever played. Period. I'm rebuying it and a ps4 just to play through it ask again with prettier graphics. It's. Just. That. Good.

Same here. It was so good that I didn't even want to play it again for fear that it wouldn't be the same the second time around. Then they announced the PS4 version and that's out the window.
Story is great but the gameplay is good also. Good balance. Always interested in what is going to happen next, characters a great.
Adult story, adult characters, gritty. Some spots felt like resident evil, except good. Dark, brutal, genius. It busted its way into my top 3 games of all time, joining final fantasy 7 and shenmue.

Can't agree with this. MGS is some stealth broken up by hours of cut scenes. This obviously has cut scenes but then never feel intrusive. I dunno, it's just story telling done right.
Simply put, it's the best single player game I've ever played in consoles. Got my ps4 just for the remastered edition & few other exclusives, but mainly just for this
I hated the game.... maybe it was the graphics.. maybe it was the god awful controls... maybe I am just not use to controllers. No problem playing with controller for Dark Souls 1 & 2 though.
*shrug* Maybe i'll give it another go if I ever own a PS4.

The game was a bore most of the time with apologist screaming "Exposition"
The fact there were several hours total spread across the game with no gameplay where you just pressed forward and did nothing was boring. Not to mention the horrible shooting and fighting mechanics that were horrible as well but then again, everyone will scream "Realistic" and "Gritty" as if it makes up for bad game mechanics.

What exactly was horrible about the shooting? The constant motion or the recoil? Both were fine unless you want shooting mechanics that require no effort. The cover mechanic is perfect. None of that sticking to surface crap that most games do now. It's seamless and it works fine. Also what was horrible about the fighting mechanics? You press square to punch or if you're near and object it uses it to your advantage. Were you expecting something like any fighting game? I would really like to know what you would have changed.
my entire household thought the game was fantastic, from start to finish. I think some of the points where you aren't constantly fighting against something, do well to create the atmosphere of the game and, for me, that helps with immersion. I don't need to be button mashing to enjoy a game, the days of single-minded arcade games are gone... i need something that is going to take me through a well rounded experience, not just killing everything until i reach the next level.

The Uncharted games have the same problem. It gets monotonous. Probably the biggest disappointment is the fact that there's only 3 types of infected.
The story is predictable, but what shines is the game presentation: the characters, the voice acting, the animations, even when it was pretty ugly from a graphical standpoint, the environments really put you there in that messed up world.
I got it from a friend for PS3, so I had to return it and really felt the need to do a second playthrough.
But I don't think the remaster is worth $50, so I'll just wait for a price drop.
Based on what's been posted, probably not going to touch this if plot and presentation are the only things going for it. It is at the end of the day a game. Gameplay should come first.
