This is not my video, but the flicker seems very similar.. and it seems to go away temporarely if I move the screen slightly. The model is hp pavilion dv5-1199ec.
Umm sure, I should probably try that. Its my GF's laptop and since I kind of squeezed the sides of the laptop, she reports it didn't happen for a day and then only rarely.
If the problem isn't the cable, it could be hardware related and somewhere in the display settings within your operating system there is an option to change your refresh rate. Unsupported refresh rates can cause flickering. If you have noticed color being off however, the problem is definitely the cable.
