My First PC Build W/ The H440, Red & Black

Heres the new setup

H440 - Red and Black

i7-4790k

Asus Maximus VII Ranger ATX

8x2 G.Skillz Ripjaws

R9 295x2

CorsairRM1000w fully mod psu

I will also have 1 or 2 SSDs, and a 2tb HDD

I bought the x60 Kraken, and after soul searching ive decided ill return it (motivated partially because amazon sent it with no screws or washers with smeared thermal paste)

And I have decided to go all out and incorporating a single loop XSPC system.

XSPC Raystorm AX 360 cooling kit with the D5 Photon

I ordered PETG red tubing, with the Revolver compression fittings, Brass / Black all from Primochill

the XSPC r9 295x2 Full covereage Block along with the matching backplate,

and from what ive read i think ill go with distilled water with the "dead water" from the xspc kit.

I also just bought a 240mm rad, because i dont think the single 360 will cut it with the r9 giving out 500w itself.

The only knowledge i have is through google, and forums like these and as of now i plan on mounting my radiator up to with Noctura fans pulling air in exhaust, 3 fans up front for intake, I will remove all HDD cages and mount SSDs in PSU cover and HDD in bottom beside the PSU.

I dont know what direction to go in as far as exhaust, ill have the top slot with the 360 rad and front with 240 and a fan, not sure what the best way to do intake / exhaust so any advice there would be awesome!

Thanks so much for reading! Ill of course be posting plenty of pictures a long the way if anyone chooses to see them haha.

** Of course as a 1st time build I am more than open to ideas and advice however id really rather not shell out any more cash than i already have

Alrighty!!

It's been a few days since I got my parts. So far this as been a awesome experience. I know I've made some mistakes, this is my first time building a pc so I'm open to all advice.

Anyway,

I put the red led strip behind the mobo, put on water blocks etc, turns out with the massive r9 295x2 I can't fit both my radiators in the case without losing a few fans. After all I've bought for performance I'm not willing to loose that for looks, so I mounted the 240 on the back. Now I'll post some pictures

Ran into an issue here not having enough room for 140mm fan, so I'made going to swap it out with a thinner fan in its place.

First soldering job biggrin.gif put in red leds for waterblocks.

Painted exterior radiator mounts

Making sure it's nice and level :position

Might not be able to tell but then r9 295x2 is stupid heavy with that waterblock and it sags down quite a bit, so I found these 60 cent plates at home Depot and I'll try to make some sort of stand.

Got them painted, drilled holes in case to mount, I might try to fit 2 led through those holes and bolt that back plate onto it. We will see biggrin.gif
