The Russians have put a bounty on Tor worth nearly 4 million rubles to anybody who can hack the anonymity network.
That's $100,000 to you, imperialist running dog. And Russian citizens and companies can collect the reward if they can show Moscow how to crack the network and discover the identities of those using it.
um....thats chump change for something of this level.
i'd imagine anyone who would be able to do this would ask for slightly more and prob make slightly more than this either via salary, bounties or theivery.
The $100000 reward offer of the Russian government only applies to citizens and companies of Russia. To join, users should spend a whopping $5,555 for them to become eligible participants.

lol so they will be paying out the 100k reward off of the entrants money into the program, and they'll probably pocket the extra money (i'm assuming they plan on having more than 20 people/organizations join).
anyway. the people that can hack Tor, are the same people using Tor to make money so idk if many will help
Pretty much if the NSA can't even crack TOR, fat chance a freelancer will be able to do that and collect the measly $100,000. On the other hand, the NSA tracks everyone who has ever visited the TOR website and keeps tabs on them. They're watching you...
Russia should have offered 1 million Dollars worth for the prize. After all, chances are once they show Moscow how to do it the person will end up having a bad "accident"

So, wouldn't this be considered an act of terrorism?
It's known that Vidalia (Tor's parent company/program) was and is a product of the US Military because they wanted a way to transfer data under secure channels.
So most of the nodes/proxies on the network are actually active US Military bases. Including most of the nodes overseas.
Therefor, wouldn't the hacking/attack on most of the nodes/proxy servers be therefor taken as an act of war? -- Considering most are servers on active duty bases?

Run by? No. Monitored because everyone is a terrorist? Yes.
Most of the Nodes/Proxies on TOR are indeed US Military servers. Gov't owned, US Military servers.
Next time you're on TOR do a little checklist of the servers -- You'll find geographically, there's a US military base within 100 yards from most of them.
Remember reading a while back, that there were some ppl going to talking about tor weakness and exploits at the black hat thing.
Sadly it seems like its been binned.
With the skills required..... that's less than a years salary. But, whoever does figure it out, will have an amazing job waiting for them ... along with having to constantly look over their shoulders for the rest of their life.
More troublingly, $830,269 of Tor's budget came from the US Department of Defense, including for helping the US military with "communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance."
They don't even have the sense to hide the fact that they want to spy on people...
