Any ideas for a $800-850 rig (must have graphics card) - Page 3

You can still find a few new i5 2400 cpus on ebay, why not get this one ? I know it's dated back to 2011 but still better than fx 6xxx and even 8xxxx. XFX 450W should be more than enough for 270x and i5, It's quality, cheap and comes with 5 year warranty. And I'd definitel get a used case, just tell the guy to send you a lot of pictures. Also, check out 2133 memory sticks, they're almost the same price as 1600 kits now.

Yeah but look at the GPU that I'm suggesting him... well better than your 270X...285 X is between a 280 and a 770 so ...

IDK, If I was to choose a 850 $ rig I'd go with a used Gigabyte 7950 WF 3X with roughly 12 month warranty left.

800$ ain't that much if we're talikng about building it from the scratch, there's a lot of extra costs like shipping, peripherials etc....

I definitely wouldn't get an SSD for a 850$ rig, you're sacrificing too much CPU and GPU performance.

WD Blue 1TB should be enough for starters.
