My graphic settings are resetting everytime I run the game.. even via geforce experience when I set them to optimal settings and then run the game, it resets back.
Anyone else having this problem?

Game itself is running quite good on HIGH on my sign rig.

Mine is the Iorveth path if you'd want that. I don't remember anyone dying. WITCHER 2 SPOILERS (Click to show)

Game works great, unfortunately imo visual aspect don't match my personal expectation (new level graphics like Skyrim 3 or Crysis 3 earlier).

First location, short bench, EVGA SLI7 80Ti 30-40 fps in 4K (dsr) with HairWorks less than 10 fps wink.gif Newest NV drivers.

I'm happy overall with the game. It's my favorite Witcher so far but tbh I didn't like the first or second one at all.

The combat is still bad in my eyes, not surprising as it sucked royally in 1 and 2. It IS better though, playable at least.

The only other complaint I have is minor really but I'd love to be able to walk when I want to and not just in specific places. Maybe it's just me but the default speed is just to damn fast and jerky. It's so hard to maneuver around things b/c you'll go shooting off way past your desired spot.

Outside of that the graphics are perfectly fine imo. Since I didn't like the original Witchers I didn't watch all the old videos and get spoiled with how the rest of you thought the game would look. The story so far and world in general is solid as well.

It may seem like I've bashed the game a lot but seriously I'm enjoying it so far. Just a few minor issues and combat not being my favorite is the only problems I have. Overall I'd give it a 7.5, maybe 8/10. That's pretty great for me especially since I'm not a fan of the Witcher lore anyway.

I have no idea why CDPR went with GOG, the platform is horrendous! 1 file gets corrupt and it deletes the entire game forcing you to re-install/download it..... 3 hours wasted so far... I'm ecstatic with my collectors edition, but this experience is driving me up the freaking wall... kookoo.gif

Played a bit around with settings and this is what i got on a 290 tri-x oc'ed 1145/1400 ~40 fps, and on stock speeds 1000/1300 ( ~30 fps )

Game looks incredible really.

I found out that downsampling is the only way to go for good visuals on smaller objects, the ingame filtering is really poor for native resolution on 1080p screen. You get so much more detail with a higher resolution, serieusly worth the trade off when it comes to extra frames.

Settings i use:

2540x1440 downsampled towards my 1080p screen ( absolute must for way better picture quality )
AA is on, completely removes any jaggies with the downsampling, doesn't take much more then 1 fps hit so it's needed.
HBAO+ absolute must
Everything else on ultra
Hairworks off ( it just doesn't look that great in my opinion anyway, and with hairworks on my fps hits like sub 25-30 fps, i have to reduce settings which is not worth it for sure )
Depth of field off ( looks bad in my opinion )
Motion blur / blur both off
Vsync on, to remove tearing to get a really stable picture even when you don't hit 60 fps it's worth it.
Chrom.... setting off, pretty standard stuff really
sharpening filter off ( looks way smoother without it )

Thanks for all that detail nice post. If I can ask does turning off Depth of Field, Motion Blur, and Chrom help FPS at all? I usually don't like those either but haven't touched my settings at all. I run a single 7970 and it defaulted to high (1080p screen) and has ran pretty smooth. I'm happily surprised.

If turning those off gives me a few more FPS I might get to jack textures up to ultra or something.

Quick question how do you downsample?
