Game looks incredible really.

I found out that downsampling is the only way to go for good visuals on smaller objects, the ingame filtering is really poor for native resolution on 1080p screen. You get so much more detail with a higher resolution, serieusly worth the trade off when it comes to extra frames.

Settings i use:

2540x1440 downsampled towards my 1080p screen ( absolute must for way better picture quality )
AA is on, completely removes any jaggies with the downsampling, doesn't take much more then 1 fps hit so it's needed.
HBAO+ absolute must
Everything else on ultra
Hairworks off ( it just doesn't look that great in my opinion anyway, and with hairworks on my fps hits like sub 25-30 fps, i have to reduce settings which is not worth it for sure )
Depth of field off ( looks bad in my opinion )
Motion blur / blur both off
Vsync on, to remove tearing to get a really stable picture even when you don't hit 60 fps it's worth it.
Chrom.... setting off, pretty standard stuff really
sharpening filter off ( looks way smoother without it )

Hey guys is anyone coming across a ctd at random times??

Usually when it's important, finding myself saving the game quite often to avoid it.

However I'm not encountering any direct x crashed of driver crashes??

Solid game so far can't wait to put in some more hours

Cheers, gliggo.

Sorry, what he meant was - graphics are pretty impressive if you haven't come from a click bait article relating to pre alpha footage, have no real interest in the series and were looking for the best graphics you've seen in your entire life thumb.gif

The screenshots don't do it justice, when the game is in full swing especially at 60 frames it looks pretty amazing. It's not the best, but they're only so important in this game type.

Nope. I purposely avoided watching any of those pre-alpha videos. The game in general just looks below average or even worse (outside of the tremendous looking characters). This at 4k max settings. The worst thing of all is that hideous color palette which makes the game look even worse than it should.

Game is running great on all Ultra(and all Hairworks) 1440p with a Titan X at 1500 core. 55-70 fps.

Had one crash at the very beginning, played 4 hours since without one.

My cut scenes can be jumpy because card idles down.

I agree the game in motion is the best looking game Ive ever played, there are some ugly textures in the bushes and stuff but get out of the bushes and play the game and you wont notice it. You will be immersed into the world.

You can walk anywhere you want though it's not in the tutorial biggrin.gif

Press CTRL to switch between Walking / Running.
Hold SHIFT to sprint. thumb.gif

Go to the folder The Witcher 3 - Wild Hunt\bin\x64 and rename Galaxy.dll to Galaxy2.dll and you're good to go. For some reason game was accessing the internet and I blocked it in firewall and game instant crashed. Later my internet messed up a bit in middle of game then also it crashed. Re-name that file and the game no more wanted to access the internet and had no crash in last 6 hours.

Then judging by the mixed opinions being there's such a contrast some people must have had their expectations way too high.
